New boss was both-sides-ing but followed with, “I’m not a socialist but shouldn’t we feed kids? I don’t want socialism but shouldn’t we have healthcare? Other countries have parental leave.” etc.

Hell yeah

"The Bovadium Fragments’ is a parable of the destruction of Oxford (Bovadium) by the motores manufactured by the Daemon of Vaccipratum (a reference to Lord Nuffield and his motor-works at Cowley) which block the streets, asphyxiate the inhabitants, and finally explode.”

Today I discovered a new thing about my city: bicycles are banned on some streets because of high pedestrian traffic.

One of these is a street which has been widened.

Yes, bikes are the problem, here. Sure.

Monthly DoD payroll is ~$16 billion. This supposed "gift" would cover less than 1% of that amount.

If split evenly among active duty service members, each would get just under $100.

Reporters who don't challenge on this are committing egregious malpractice.
New: The Pentagon confirms to CNN it will funnel $130M from an anonymous Trump “friend” toward military pay.

Asked about the donor’s identity and any foreign or domestic entanglements, the WH referred questions to DoD. DoD then referred questions back to the WH

Another part of this shutdown nonsense that isn’t being talked about is that supplies can’t be purchased by agencies. Things like, medical supplies for the civilian-run hospitals.

I only had 8 good weeks of training for my gravel event on Saturday, but I am really excited to see how it goes now that my chronic illness is, if not cured, at least in a stranglehold for a bit (hopefully the rest of my life).

One thing’s for sure, though: Taper weeks are fuckin’ boring.

Did a great ride today with the Palmer Land Conservancy exploring the Bessemer irrigation ditch in Pueblo, CO. The ride included a few stops at farm.

This is the old seed store. The owner had to close it down after her brother died, and she’s selling the farm.

I was driving home from my bike ride (I was on a club ride, don’t @ me) and saw the remains of a recumbent vs. SUV on a busy intersection (with a bike lane). No report of this on local news. Hoping the cyclist is OK.
