How should higher education institutions deal with harassment & sexual misconduct by 3rd parties who are not staff or students?

These cases present fewer opportunities for prevention & response.

This question is addressed in our new toolkit: ukcge.ac.uk/assets/resou...

If you work in #HigherEducation this toolkit is essential reading.
From 01/08/25 the OfS are adding a new condition of registration ("E6") regulating #HEIs in England on preventing and responding to harassment and sexual misconduct.

Important news podcast about staff sexual misconduct in HE exploring how it leads to women leaving academia
This is a great new podcast that really makes this issue come alive.

(And yes it features our own @annabull.bsky.social )
I spoke to women leaving academia posts because they feel universities are protecting predatory professors.

Is this one cause for the ‘leaky pipeline’ problem, which sees women falling out of academia at every rung of the ladder?
