Massive move in gilts on open. Looks like giving up almost half the gains from the last month. Terrible
I am excited to see the gilt market reaction to this news. Think it could be quite bad. A big chunk of the recent gilt rally was predicated on Labour showing they could hike the big taxes if needed and….well I guess that idea is dead.

Tonight I witnessed a beautiful thing: two men, unsure how to greet each other. One extends a fist expecting a bump. The other a hand expecting a handshake. The extended hand took the fist and... shook it.

I know I am off-kilter this week because I just welled up at a quote by Timothy Leary

"Everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected. Find the others…"

Something I think about when it comes to housing affordability is that 8 years ago I rented for £650 which was, at the time, much more than what my friends rented for.

I bought in 2018, mortgage was lower. With interest rate changes it's now about £650 again. Friends now pay >£1000 to rent.

Went on a date, wasn't the best, wasn't the worst. As usual, I asked so many questions about him and he asked me, ooh - none

At the end he looked at his phone and was like ooh I have to get home and make a dashboard

(I wanted out after 20 minutes myself but that is hilarious sorry)

The civil service uses VPNs. I'm pretty confident most government functions use VPNs.
The British government admits it is now monitoring VPNs use by UK residents. Regulator Ofcom has contracted with an AI-powered surveillance service to detect the number of citizens using VPNs to evade the Online Safety Act.

The UK tech minister has said a VPN ban is on the table.
Exclusive: Ofcom is monitoring VPNs following Online Safety Act. Here's how
Ignoring VPNs risks creating ineffective laws, but tracking them threatens people's privacy

I feel like I have spent so much time, energy and money on trying to sort my sleep out (get to sleep, stay asleep, have good quality and length of sleep) and there are people who just walk through life like "oh I just lie down and go off" like honestly don't talk to me

The BBC needs someone experienced enough to run a huge media org, and willing to take a job with no security. They need to know the BBC well enough to do the job, but not be an “insider”. They need to somehow be acceptable to a Lab government but also right-wing papers.

This person doesn’t exist.

Not concerning at all
"We have loss of separation in the airspace. Those numbers are going up. More ground incursions. I have more complaints coming into the FAA from pilots who are saying that air traffic controllers are not as responsive. They seem stressed or they're not using the appropriate language..."

Yesterday I got a notification from my parents' ring doorbell, and I happened to look at it (I don't always) and it was a tuxedo cat that looked like Kaspar walking across the screen. Never seen a cat on it and they've had it for years. Felt weirdly reassuring.
