Too much of the USA’s decline is being framed in terms of “look at our empire being torn apart by clowns” - that’s exactly the problem: this decline is the logical outcome of when that same will to dominate is turned inwards. (I know that’s an obvious point, I’m just seeing this framing everywhere.)
