After his Grammys performance, lots of people were up in arms about whether Bad Bunny saying "we're all Americans" was a sign that he was making a nod towards PR statehood (unlikely) or whether he was saying it in a pan-american way. It was clear then what he meant, and it should be even clearer now

there’s something off about this but i can’t quite articulate the reason. my first inclination is that this is more a result of class then anything else. the upper classes, from local gentry to the top 1%, tend toward decadence while the middle class tends toward social conservatism out of fear.
