Having Johnson & Cummings in Downing Street when Covid struck was, just like Brexit, an entirely avoidable disaster caused largely by utterly appalling journalism. And now exactly the same clowns, arses & bigots with bylines are rolling out the red carpet for Farage.

Covid inquiry live: ‘Inexcusable’ delays under Johnson led to 23,000 deaths
Lockdowns may have been avoided if Boris Johnson’s government had acted faster, damning report finds

That's the problem when you elect bumbling fools like Johnson
Baroness Heather Hallett, "Had the lockdown been imposed one week earlier than the 23rd of March, the evidence suggests the number of deaths in England alone in the first wave, would have been reduced by 48%, that's 23,000 fewer deaths"

You can bet none of this will happen. Particularly while people like him exist with their obscene wealth

I agree
Gary Stevenson, "You cannot allow the richest people in your society to take a bigger share, in economies with almost no growth, and not expect ordinary families to get poorer"

"The reason ordinary families and the gov get poorer year after year is because of this massively increasing inequality"

I take exception to the claim homelessness is a health issue. Primary cause of homelessness is lack of affordable housing, high rents, poverty and inadequate welfare system. They might have drug and alcohol problems but who can blame them for seeking a way out

Emergency housing motels end in Rotorua - but has it just shifted the problem elsewhere?
At its peak, there were more than 240 families place across 13 motels. Now there are zero.

Even worse, they're making it worse. Homelessness has increased under this govts watch
Handy advice for New Zealanders, whose Government is toying with a policy to “move on” the homeless. While avoiding doing anything much about the causes of homelessness. #nzpol
Every time the government says it just can’t fix the housing crisis, point them to Austria & this article. It’s being fixed in other wealthy countries all over the world. Tks @abcnews #auspol

It's better than nothing.
#nzpol Labour is proposing to create a Capital Gains Tax on property - excluding farms and the family home. That income will help make GP visits free for the majority of people. Is that a better policy than continuing tax-free profits on, say, someone's seventh property? Absolutely. A🧵

Yes the fabled National lead govt who are supposed to be better with the economy, are spending more than the previous Labour lead govt who at least had a pandemic to deal with, plus a couple of cyclones, as an excuse. National, are not what they are cracked up to be. I think ACT&NZF are just as bad.
John Key left NZ with ~$60 billion debt

And Luxon's National are on track to borrow $120 billion ($100bn with pay equity stolen) in less time & no pandemic #nzpol #kiwi
