This thread is a good reminder to write your MPP. Some good bullet points here.
If you live in Ontario and rent your home, own your home, bike, take transit, care about the environment, value democracy, don't want water to be privatized, are opposed to surveillance infrastructure... you are going to want to email your MPP about #Bill60: win.newmode.net/fightbill60

Doug Ford is ramming through #Bill60 without public hearings, bundling 16 unrelated laws together so MPPs can't properly debate gutting tenant protections. Send an email to your representative today—our democracy depends on it. win.newmode.net/fightbill60

This is a REALLY important story, Canada. The Carney government's push to AI our entire country is going to hurt so many people and cause SO much damage to our communities. The government isn't doing ANYTHING to try and mitigate the harms data centres are going to cause, either.

Ottawa is betting on artificial intelligence. Just like #BigOil, Big Tech is building infrastructure that will be nearly impossible to dismantle.

Co sign co sign co sign.

There’s also so much activism that should NOT be documented on social media for both strategic and safety reasons.

People who throw these performative accusations back and forth are usually telling on themselves.
1. Stop assuming people announce all their activism on social media.

2. Stop demanding people announce all their activism on social media.

3. Stop deriding people for not announcing all their activism on social media.

4. Dunking on people on social media isn't activism and isn't praxis.

Reagan walked so Trump could run
This is not the Republican Party of Reagan or Romney. This is the MAGA party.

We need Democratic leadership who understand that, and who are ready to fight back.

Oh I don’t have anything insightful to share - thus is a heads up that I’m going to be a huge bitch for 18 hours.

In the past two weeks 5 people from the south riverdale community here in Toronto have overdosed and died. That’s only who we know. Some neighbours, columnists, politicians rallied to close supervised consumption sites & safe supply -our communities not theirs are dying en masse. I feel 💔.

This makes it sound like they’re being laughed at and excluding for not boning before marriage, and going to church….rather than, facing social exclusion of espousing hateful views.

I am queer and have Christian friends, I do NOT have homophobe friends (Christian or otherwise).
Interesting story that gets to the heart of why many Christians feel persecuted in the U.S.: The secular elite find many of their views abhorrent and uncouth

A thing that I find incredibly interesting is the world is full of people who genuinely believe they have a *right* to be liked and for people to be obsequious towards them. I have seen it from a wide range of people, and it never ceases to amaze me. No one *has* to be your friend!
No. Christians feel persecuted because there is a vast media apparatus telling them that they are persecuted. There is no evidence whatsoever of large-scale discrimination against Christians in this country.

A must read 🧵 ONDP needs to address its racism if it ever wants to succeed
I went to work for the ONDP after the 2018 election which saw the existing caucus double with the most diverse members of any party and compelling experience to bring to the table.

There’s been a lot of change.

Electoral politics are not going to save us, but they still need a reckoning. #ONpoli
