Far fewer films watched this week as flu has had me laid on the sofa re-watching season 2 of The X-Files, but the weekend’s watches were aces.

Hard recommend for the Adams Family’s latest: Mother Of Flies (2026). Super makes me want to visit the Catskills.

I Start Counting (1970) was simply stunning. All the best and the worst of people and places of the late-60s/early 70s colliding in an atmosphere I’ve only experienced in Picnic At Hanging Rock (1975).

A massively pleasant surprise courtesy of Dracula (2025). It honoured what came before, brought something new, had a great cast, and had plenty of wit to go with it. I’ve either been living under a rock or it just had no marketing at all. So odd.

Row (2025) is a very decent, horror-adjacent, mystery thriller. The poster makes it look “shitty horror”. It’s anything but. Hard recommend tbh.
