Your cat when you're choking to death in your apartment

Your cat when you're choking to death in your apartment
I haven't had much incentive to go to a Starbucks since Fall 2024 when I lost power for 4-5 days.
Nowadays, I just walk to a local coffee house that supports my community and this new coffee house that opened near my church that has a far more chill vibe.
Either way, #SupportUnions

Our @sbworkersunited.org baristas are ready to go on strike for a fair contract - and we can let them know America’s union members have their back.
Together, we can show that when workers speak up, bosses have to listen. #NoContractNoCoffee

Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

You don’t have to take my word for it that Christian Nationaism isn’t real Christianity and that it gives the religion a bad and shameful name. I’m sure you’ll listen to what the creator of VeggieTales has to say about why people who practice CN don’t belong in the church.

remember! you arent calling representatives to change hearts and minds, youre calling in order to INTIMIDATE them through sheer numbers into backing down on dumbass censorship bills.

I'm in Texas and I do it because it does matter. There's a lot of dissent across the board right now. Your reps being red isn't an excuse, it's more reason to take 3 minutes and say some words at their receptionist

Robert Redford was a true trail blazer for the New Age of Hollywood of the 70s with his natural charisma that made him a go-to actor then using his status to form the Sundance Film Festival to give a spotlight to new artists.
His legacy is truly enshrined and will never fade.

Related to that last post, y’all gotta stop “Quote Posting To Dunk On Someone” in general.
It’s never been useful. It’s always been a bad idea. And all it does is focus more eyes on a singular asshole or hateful ideologies giving that person/thing more exposure and reach.

I have never seen a Cracker Barrel in person in my life.
So the level of emotion I had over the whole logo "controversy" was like a bug buzzing around my head.
Mildly bothersome but easy to ignore until it goes away on it's own.
I hope it was worth the yelling, MAGA. I'm still not going in one.

How depressing that somehow kindness is now political?
That arguing for kindness is "woke?"
I'm genuinely unsettled and worried for future generations that will grow up under these conditions...

In the first ep. a girl scout says "It's nice to be nice!". In the new Superman movie Clark says "Maybe kindness is the new punk rock." We've reached a point where characters have to all but look directly into the camera and say "Hey, maybe just trying be nice?"
That's how far we've fallen.
That's how far we've fallen.
The King of the Hill reboot makes a lot of smart choices. It’s too sincere for our times but it tried.

I thought this sounded strange.
As a Costco employee, I have never heard of mifepristone being sold at the pharmacies before.
I admit falling for it but knowing that this is just right-wingers exploiting something to rile up the left feels more targeted on reflection.

The feeling of waking up in the morning and not wanting to get out of bed or do anything is increasing as of late.
I personally blame the heat or it could be a combination of low self-worth and the ever-depressing news of the state of the world.
Fingers crossed some good comes this month... 🤞

Never grew up on wrestling but I heard the name Hulk Hogan a few times.
That being said, the more I learned about the guy, the less I cared about him as a person.
Heart goes out to the family and all, but the main feeling is pity.
Pity that, for all his success, he didn't live with true decency.

#Superman2025 captures everything that makes Superman a figure of hope in a hopeless time.
Superb casting, fun yet tense action sequences and a sense of humanity that Snyder struggled to capture in his outings. Could have had more time to flesh out the characters and themes.

I do think that this has genuinely led to the increase of body image issues amongst men, in the same way that largely unattainable models have long caused issues for women. This is despite the fact that the Jackman on the right can only be achieved by a constant workout and dangerous dehydration.
A hill I will die on is that people are more attractive and look actually fit and not weirdly fucked up, dehydrated, & miserable in older films when they were allowed to be human and not horrible action figures. It’s not “dad bod” it’s “very fit human”

Here's the part we all need to be aware of.
These cuts will kick in after 2026.
After the mid-terms, when it's most likely the Dems will retake the house and senate.
A perfect scheme for the GOP to throw blame to the Dems when they set the fire in the first place.

We will not forget.
We will call out the lies every day.
We will remind you that 114K Nevadans could lose coverage and that at least 2 rural hospitals will be in danger of closing.
And that no tax on tips or Social Security is bullsh1t.
Thanks again, Greedy Old Party.
