Hi! If you know about the massive violations of privacy we are experiencing on the internet right now and choose to not even say anything about them, you are a part of the problem. Have a nice day <3

So the recent KL28634378 destroyed my GPU driver, so I DDU'd it, opened regedit and deleted 17 keys in various locations, set my Desktop to 640x480 at 16Bit before booting to safe mode in which I opened a CMD as Admin and

thinking about forgotten computer sounds we no longer hear:

• the grinding noise of a defragmenting hard drive
• the BZWOMM of the monitor degauss button
• the squeal of an ejecting floppy drive
• the crackle of static as you switch off a CRT monitor
• the horrifying shriek of a dot matrix printer

My single most "I am getting old" complaint is I miss when phones had a wired headphones jack. I spend at least half my writing session every day fighting with Bluetooth headphones.

It's 2024 and Windows 11 Pro still reboots to install updates without permission — even if your PC is in the middle of a resource-intensive task, like rendering an image sequence in Blender.

i am a certified linux creature uwu
if you have a computer you no longer use, consider donating it to your local Linux Creature.

Linux Creatures must install linux on a new device every few months in order to survive, and you may end up getting a useful computer out of it to boot.

(if they don't end up keeping it)
