Binged the entirety of Stranger Things 5 in 2 days. What a ride. I hope this show one day comes in a nice BluRay set. Would get it. Was a great experience. And now I can finally kill my Netflix subscription. :D

I think it's about time for a regime change in the USA.

Me: Man, Breath of the Wild was kinda boring.
Everyone: The best video game ever made

Me: Matrix 4 was more fun than I thought it would be.
Everyone: Here is a 5 hour essay explaining how Matrix 4 is crap and how a sane human mind cannot enjoy it.

I spent the last 5 or so days in a state of constant panic attack. Never experienced something like that, but it was absolutely dreadful - which probably goes without saying. Wouldn't recommend.

It's wild to read some of the things people write about Metroid Prime 4. Like:

1) "The game locks your save once you go to endgame area" - no it doesn't. It overwrites the autosave. But MANUAL save stays until you mark it as cleared after credits (which you can decline). So you can 100% afterwards.

Once I'm done with Stranger Things 5, I'll finally cancel my Netflix sub. Had it for 5+ years and I only watched shows/movies to justify 2 years of that. Or 2 months if I discount Star Trek shows, which I could get dirt cheap on DVD.

Streaming just isn't financially viable.

#Analogue3D motivated me to fill the gaps in my N64 collection. Some games are hard to get and I'll settle for loose carts for those. But Ridge Racer 64 I got CiB for 25 EUR and I couldn't say no to that.

I have finished TIAMATS WRATH. Wow. After all the Free Navy stuff, the series has gone full back to 11 on the "weird alien shit"-scale and I am here for it. Whatever will await me in LEVIATHAN FALLS, I'm ready.

I knew there were a ton of Dune novels, getting weirder and weirder as the series went on. But I cannot imagine what happens in the newest entry of the saga: "DUNE: now a major blockbuster film"

Today for Saturday Morning Marble Game, I turned the end caps, which were previously toggles on procedural tracks, into separate parts that can now be used everywhere.

Since the part palette expands so much, it made sense.

I put references/easter eggs into Doki Doki Gravity Dive, so I'm putting references into Saturday Morning Marble Game as well.

Half an hour to midnight. Instead of going out and/or celebrate, I'm just gonna go and play some N64. Cause life's too short to not do the things you want to do.

And I can't imagine a better way to enter 2026 than playing Ocarina of Time (except Majoras Mask perhaps).

With the last bit of energy I have this year, I completely reworked the tool that creates thumbnails of all the parts in the game.

It's always been a pain to pose parts. Now the tool takes care of most and I only have to punch in some minor adjustments - and it all looks way more consistent.

Last hot take of 2025:

Over the past 2 years I learned that you need a real high resolution to make an authentic CRT filter for old games/consoles. But just some bilinear or subtle smoothing filter can already smooth pixel art out similar to a CRT. Not perfect but good enough in spirit.

Ever so grateful for feedback I get on my game. So this one's for aeva (on Mastodon): Configurable ramps and turns. Opposed to fully shapeable tracks, these are easier to place/use. Still gotta tune settings to ensure sane tracks. And I add support for stoppers and track width. Work never ends.

After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that my game of the year 2025 is The Legend Of Zelda - Ocarina of Time. It's legitimately the one game where I can feel myself smiling while I play. And I don't do that a lot these past few years. Thanks Analogue.

Never stops being surreal to read an article about a game I worked on.

There's a Bloodlines story you haven't played, and it's one of my favorite VTM games ever made
Santa Monica By Night is a Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines flash game that you need to try, and it's just ten minutes long, so no excuses.

For the love of Zanza, just play this game.

And for the love of Meyneth, if you don't end up liking it because you hate fun, don't slide into my timeline and complain about it.
