I’m on my way to soundcheck right now. There’s going to be a bonus improv set featuring Joe Morris, Anna Webber, Frank C, our guest artists and yours truly. This will be the first time I’ve played with Braxton in about 30 years.

Hey, this very early Sun Ra - excuse me, Sunny Blount - live recording from 1949 just showed up on YouTube. I gather it's on some rarities CD, but I would assume most haven't heard it. I seem to have been the first viewer! Wilbur Ware on bass! www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCX0...

The Wong Kar-Wai mini-fest at the long-gone Chinatown theater by the Manhattan bridge. Pretty sure that was the first time any of his films were screened in nyc.
Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Office Space (1999)

I just saw the program for Steve Drury's upcoming solo recital at Jordan Hall. He's playing Wolff's "Hay una Mujer Desaparecida (after Holly Near)" and Rzewski's "The People United Will Never Be Defeated." I'll say this for Steve, he knows what time it is.

Nobody has pursued the accordion angle on the Epstein shitshow AFAIK yet so I searched this for "accordion" and gleaned this gem, among a few others.

This highly influential White House advisor now states openly: use paramilitary forces to intervene directly in our elections.

This is what the conspiracy theories have been for. This moment.

Conservative and Liberal Americans reject fascism. We know it won't help any 'side'. It is time to act.

Pausing the doom for a second to commemorate the great Eliane Stritch's 100th birthday. I'm not a big Sondheim or B'way person in general, but there are days when I think Pennebaker's doc about the making of Company is the greatest film ever made. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWsG...

It's 2019. No one has heard of covid yet. "Old Town Road" is at the top of the charts. A whistleblower represented by Andrew Bakaj files a classified complaint with the Intelligence Community Inspector General about wrongdoing at the highest levels of the U.S. government.
Exclusive: A U.S. official has alleged wrongdoing by U.S. spy chief Tulsi Gabbard in a complaint that is so highly classified it has sparked months of wrangling over how to share it with Congress, according to people familiar with the matter.

Congress hasn’t seen the complaint, which was filed eight months ago with the U.S. intelligence community watchdog’s office.
