Remembering Joseph Hill who was born on this day in 1949.

Joseph formed Culture in 1976 and over the next 30 years he recorded over 20 LPs.

The Wonder Boy credited on this 7" is Slim Smith newly solo from The Uniques.

This is another beautiful tune by Slim and which despite the writing credit isn't a cover version of The Sandpebbles Love Power...

Stephen "Cat" Coore, co-founder of Third World, passed away January 18 at 69. His guitar drove the hits, but his cello changed reggae forever. From '96 Degrees In The Shade' to 'Now That We've Found Love', he bridged Kingston's roots with the world stage. Gone too soon. RIP to a true legend.

Happy 63rd birthday to Caron Wheeler.

Best known for her time with Soul II Soul, Caron started out as a teenager in the Lovers Rock vocal group Brown Sugar.

In 1980 Sugar Minott set up a UK version of his Black Roots label.

This 12" is his beautiful cover version of The Righteous Brothers You've Lost That Loving Feeling.

Sugar is both singer and DJ (Papa Honey) on this one...
