Manchester City Women are once again in transition. New coach, new hope, same questions. Can they finally break a cycle of familiar challenges? In this piece I share my take on why change is so hard within City’s fixed football identity.
Manchester City Women: Can change finally break the cycle?
Years of potential, trophies just out of reach, and managerial shuffles—Manchester City Women continue to face familiar challenges.

5 AM in Jamaica. Tuesday morning. Hurricane Melissa still hasn't arrived. She's running late but we've had a night of torrential downpours and gusting wind. Her windspeed over the ocean is 175 mph. She's set to be one of the strongest hurricanes to ever hit land in the Atlantic when she gets here.

Here in Jamaica we are preparing for Hurricane Melissa's hammer to fall as a Category 4 or 5 hurricane. It's expected to arrive late Monday night or Tuesday morning but we are expected to start experiencing storm conditions from today. This will hurt us badly if it comes. Wish us luck and miracles.

A deserved win for Portugal grinding out the win against the USWNT with solid defending while capitalising on their set pieces. Kept their composure after going 1-0 down in the first minute, and showed discipline and confidence to come back and win it. 👏👏👏
5 - Portugal is the fifth team, and just the second since 1988 (Australia in 2017), whose first-ever win over the #USWNT came on American soil. Shock.

Exciting news for Jamaica. We are part of a multi-national bid with the United States, Costa Rica and Mexico to host the 2031 Women's World Cup. And the national stadium renovation and makeover begins soon. Hopefully, the Jamaican women's game progresses in the coming years to meet this occasion.

Not sure how I feel about this.

Taylor Hinds made her senior debut for Jamaica in 2024. Now she'll rep England in upcoming friendlies.

Hinds: "I have nothing but the utmost respect and appreciation for Jamaica – they’ve been so understanding and genuinely want the best for me, which means a lot."

It’s also Black History Month in Ireland, so why not post a photo of Athlone Town’s Jamaican captain, Izzy Groves, leading her team in celebration as she lifted the Irish Women’s Premier Division trophy last Saturday — and another of her sharing a quiet moment with said trophy afterwards.

We are seeing a renewed Bunny Shaw. It's not just her game after coming back from injury. The passion she showed on the pitch for Manchester City against Arsenal was extraordinary. Her work rate was exemplary. She led the charge with her performances, her attitude, and her fervour. Goosebumps.

Take a bow, Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw. What a performance for Manchester City today, scoring a goal and helping to set up the other two for a hard-fought win over Arsenal. She was as awesome in defence as she was in attack, always running back to help, and making key clearances at the back. Brilliant.
