Okay, now Home Server is done, I'm almost caught up. Have not looked back and happily on Linux for 6 months. Now to clean up my Obsidian and Zotero for the next non-law school/professional writing/library and lawyer phase. Zettelkasten ftw (but literally hundreds of fleeting notes to sort...)

i bought the domain ohhh.lol a while back just because and the other night i noticed it gets like 100-150 unique hits a day from people typing it in their posts and group chats where it tries to load the url preview. so i hope this annoys some people while they're trying to get their mack on

I agree. @albomp.bsky.social should call a Royal Commission into antisemitism. Except it's the Governor General who does it, and our media are dishonest. We should look into that.

I support a Royal Commission, in principle. So long as the Terms of Reference are set for the discovery of root cause, truth and follows process, with all stakeholders getting a fair hearing. I am generally pro-transparency and love me a good inquiry. Antisemitism is definitely on the rise (which again can be acknowledged without it being bundled into the actions of Israel - not a religion or ethnicity but a government, that according to every expert is doing a genocide and apartheid. Also has anyone consulted Sephardic Jews in Israel? Nar), and I for one most definitely can't wait to see the truth unfold as to the root cause. I for one know who has truth on their side, and hate in their heart. I also think there should be no private sessions, with the exception of operational matters with Police and ASIO, ie *genuine* national security reasons. It should be all out in the open and have a public consultation period & public hearings. I also want there to be a media assessment incorporated into the Terms of Reference, including who buys ads, digital media, agencies and buyers, and who writes Op Eds and the entire media ecosystem that breeds hatred and division and misleads the public. Heck incorporate the Digital Platforms Inquiry findings for input/context. This includes who funds University Research, who funds media and the online media ecosystem, and why/how disinformation can be enforced. Whatever will the outcome be, I wonder? Criminalising the running of bot armies and troll farms? Greater restrictions and regulations for influencers who accept money from lobby groups? Consequences for the organised harassment campaigns and group chats and police reports and staged 'attacks' and shakedowns and threats? Where one by one, every journalist and public figure gets to testify under oath about who told them to write stories and make statements, how much they were paid, and whether they were coerced? Or will it be a McCarthyite witch hunt of ordinary people who have had a normal human reaction of empathy for the victims of what the UN, Human Rights Groups, International Lawyers, Civil Rights organisations and large proportion of the public consider to be a brutal genocide (Note: even if that is not correct, only the most disingenuous person can be so obtuse as to not understand why someone might be upset with what they see. You're either a psycho or a liar.) Unfortunately, leaving no crisis unexploited and no wedge that can't be profited from, Albo is now in a position where a RC will be a 'victory' for the worst/stupidest people you know. They knowingly ran misleading headlines non-stop, even though there is a process to follow and they know better. Remember, parliament isn't sitting till Feb, it was the Christmas break/shut down where skeleton staff etc are in place, and there is procedure to follow. The PM can't unilaterally just decide stuff, and mark my words, if he did, they'd call him an authoritarian and a tyrant anyway. We all know the truth doesn't matter to these people. So, sure, let's go all in on finding it. They don't actually have any principles, or care about antisemitism, because if they did, they wouldn't be constantly stoking US Far right nonsense that has had a measurable, defined and well-evidenced online far right funnel that results in more Nazis walking our streets. Every single peer-reviewed (I know, you don't care) study on this shows that mere online chatter and virality has very little effect, and only spread with the help of the mainstream media and or an injection of paid promotion. This is a fact. I was one of the early exploiters of this strategy and it is my lane, so I say it with authority: any good faith Royal Commission will have blame sorely at the feet of Sky News, NewsCorp, ASPI, AFP, ACL, BCA, MCA, AIJAC, Advance, Cormac, ALA and all those other far right groups, and their all-too-cosy relationship with US affiliates and all the money they take from defence contractors in the US. They (and the IDF) spend billions of dollars on propaganda, and even if Hamas or Iran was doing the same (which I don't doubt), it is a drop in the bucket compared to their opponent. I personally would also like to see whether any MPs should be disqualified/disciplined under s 44 (specifically (i) or (v)) of the constitution (one can only hope that (v) ever be enforced). I am all for a Royal Commission that is fair. FAFO. With all that said, it is the Governor General who calls a Royal Commission, under advisement from PM and Cabinet. Parliament isn't sitting until February (and they don't technically call it, but it is convention to consult with cabinet and/or others). They know it takes more than a day to organise all these things, prepare the right documents and consult and brief, and of course our hack 'journalists' won't tell you any of this, and I imagine a resolution of some sort will occur then, but who cares about facts and process, or long-held conventions and norms, when you can just lie and lie and lie and lie and personally benefit and profit with zero consequences, and then just defame and harass anyone who calls you out, again with zero consequences? Always happy to educate you further. Not that I should fucking have to, because apparently we have a press in this country, but... if you ask them, Albo can just call it unilaterally during Christmas. Cynical pricks. Anyway, yes, let's have one. But a real one. Sussan Ley MP - look forward to your always constructive and definitely completely normal and adult response befitting the honour of an MP, as per usual. People who believe in truth and operate with integrity don't need to lie, harass, or cheat. The good guys aren't afraid of democracy, nor scrutiny. They can show up anywhere, anytime, and win fair and square. So yes, Royal Commission into antisemitism, please. Let's get it all out there, for all to see. Let's see who starts squealing about transparency then...

I often think about this. See Uber v GoCatch case, where they openly admitted to breaking the law, yet it took till 2024 to even get there (and still 'won').

They *know* what they're doing, and know they can play the long game/wriggle out. At some point criminal charges need to be brought/enforced.

Complete self-hosting with NextCloud and S3 storage/backups, plus TrueNAS (moved from Proxmox) has been quite the learning curve. But glad to be all set up, and freeeee. Next step is self-hosting website...

Admittedly you kinda have to have skills/endure some friction, but definitely worth it.

I'm on a new regime of drugs.

1. Take on empty stomach, 2 hours no dairy, meat or multivitamins, so no shake

2. Must take in morning with food but Vitamin C stops it working, so no fruit
