A judge has ruled the Trump admin can move forward in deporting Mahmoud Khalil, a permanent US resident currently languishing in a detention centre despite having committed no crime beside speaking out for Palestinians rights.

This particularly has given me the impression that the circle around trump wants to sink developing economies mainly in Africa and Asia to force them into subjugation.

A neocolonial project?

Hong Kong and Belarus can tell you that if that government receives enough foreign support that's not enough
Sociology researchers found it takes just 3.5% of a nation protesting to bring down a government. That's 11.5 million of us. We WILL do it.
Can’t emphasize this enough: if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the debased assault on our country, the antidote is connecting with other people in the flesh who are feeling the same way. There are millions of us.

The main checks on Trump and Musk aren’t coming from a compliant Republican Congress but from the courts and Trump’s own sensitivity to reactions from markets and the public.

I can be as critical as anyone of the government's occasionally muddled message on growth but Look! At! This! Chart!! Anything they've done pales next to this GIGANTIC UNFORCED ERROR COMMITTED IN 2016!

What I don't get about Threads, is that is just becoming a sleeker version of Instagram... Just integrate it already!
The website vs app split for Bluesky vs Threads captures the difference in user base and usage patterns beautifully.

Bluesky = knowledge sector workers who have it open all day in a tab next to their emails. “Wait what was I doing again?”

Threads = normies watching recipe videos on the commute.

Pretty sad really... I think much of this could have been avoided if Tumblr was still alive
If I take a step back and think about it, it actually makes perfect sense we would end up with a right coded social media platform and a left coded one.

Tbh, being on Bluesky really makes me realize how on Twitter I constantly got tweets from the same 10-20 accounts, some of which I did not even follow.
Here the voices are much more scattered... Interesting but chaotic

Google is withdrawing from the political ad market in the EU, blaming a lack of precision in the definition of a "political ad" in new EU regulations that come into force next year. This leaves Meta as an effective monopolist in the market.
