The most believable thing about Gremlins is that the dad brings home a massive problem and then just disappears for the rest of the movie and lets the family take care of it.

If you want to know everything that’s wrong with your book, the best way to have a clear vision is sending it to an agent. That way it will haunt you like Jacob Marley’s ghost. You’ll be surprised by how many mistakes your brain will be able to find without even going back to read it.

I really thought I would try to get some work done today, but I do also have a pile of this year’s releases I haven’t had time for yet so I might open a bottle of wine and just… do the only thing I ever want to do and read.

I don’t understand how people can skip the prologue or epilogue in a book. I read the prologue, the epilogue, the author’s note, the acknowledgments, then I go back to reading the first chapter again just to appreciate it more now I know the characters and the story, just bury me in it please.

I have spent three days writing my Finnish mythology-inspired fantasy novel and am currently at 16k. I have never written this fast, I fear I may be possessed by the spirits of my ancestors.

Loved this book! The Patriarchs by Angela Saini, didn’t plan to read it in two days but things happened and by things I mean it gave me sooo many ideas for the book I’m planning to write next.

My favorite thing about speaking Spanish is that my Colombian boyfriend didn’t understand me when I used the Argentinian or European Spanish words for driver’s license. I still sometimes have no idea what he says and I’ve lived in Spanish-speaking countries for 18 years.

The problem with these multiverse Marvel movies is that nothing ever matters of there’s an endless number of superheroes and everyone is replaceable in theory. If everything can be fixed in another timeline, what are the stakes?
