My right hand's been hurting for months and today my left hand started to hurt... right after the first drum lesson where I didn't feel like my left hand was noticeably weaker. I guess the mysterious pain is from holding the drumstick all wrong. It will be hell to relearn this after 2+ years.

Almost missed breakfast with my sister because I started doomscrolling. I hate this world and I hate it that we can't look away even for a moment.

Blood in the Bricks (ed. Neil Williamson) puts dread in the Tube, tower blocks, and shuttered factories. Our review highlights “Down Street,” “Hagstone,” and “Flip” among the standouts.

Yes, itchy ears can be allergies, simple over the counter antihistamine usually helps me with that! It sucks, hope you don't have it often!

But. We. Don't. Have. ICE. In. Europe. That's the point. We don't have officers killing people with impunity. Neither in the streets, nor at the borders. The attitudes may not be better but people aren't randomly murdered. Also, ICE is more about terrorising the general population than immigration.

I really hope we all see brighter days soon! This winter is just too dark in every sense of the word.

I'm just fucking tired of US people saying "hey but Europe is just as bad they only hide it better" because it's not true. European countries do have the capacity to be just as bad, but at this point in history, they're not. They're bad, I'm not saying they're not, but they're not this bad.
January 8, 2026 at 3:02 PM
I'm not defending this shit. But people are not being regularly murdered by armed forces in the EU or even on the borders of the EU. In the US, they are. At this point, ICE is not about immigration, but randomly brutalising US citizens to quell dissent. The two ARE incredibly different.
January 8, 2026 at 2:51 PM
That's true, you're right, sadly this happened, and thank you for reminding me! I still think this is different from what ICE did and does, which would be just walking around a peaceful crowd and shooting people in the head.
January 8, 2026 at 12:36 PM
And let's just add that even in the worst European refugee camps and detention centres, no member of the armed forces of any European countries ever just walked up to someone and shot them in the head as ICE did yesterday.

These are apparently facial reconstructions of a 2,300-year-old Pazyryk Scythian male and female from the same kurgan in Berel, Kazakhstan and not - as I first thought - that couple I met at a Spiral Tribe soundsystem in 1992 who sold me E that turned out to be paracetamol.
