Used to translate books, now a manual software tester. I write sad poems in English and sff stories in my native Hungarian. I make Celtic knotwork inspired animal drawings and take too many photos of the same hills and vales. Trans rights are human rights.
Apparently it's #smaugust? It's a thing?

My parents read us The Hobbit when I was 6. They were already divorced at that point but my sister and I took the book with us and they took turns reading it. I always remember it as a very long, very dark, very magical journey. Bilbo would probably agree.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are coming to rescue you.

Oh well. Everyone who survived the kidnapping dies of the plague.

Because look at a fucking map and see if you could move goods on land between the Balkans and the West inside the custom union if it got kicked out.

Also, Orban won't last forever. His grip is visibly slipping (which is actually scary because there is every chance it will end in violence).

I hope your day got better!

This is not-my-mom's-cat. She chose my mother's garden as her second home a few years ago and she spends most of her day there, then goes home to her owners in the evening. She is a real yeller and a beautiful cat princess.

My sister's dogs sleep in the funniest poses and they're so sweet! (I hope heaps of good things come your way soon!)

It's not every day translators sign books they worked on, but it's for a good cause! @laurenbeukes.com has rare first editions and foreign language editions of her novels (I translated 3 into Hungarian) in the dealer's room @easterconuk.bsky.social to support the fight for trans rights, go get them!

This soft apocalypse we live in, like an empty office building with all the lights on at dusk on a Holy Saturday

I thought I could sit in my mom's garden with my sudoku but the neighbour's cat had other plans for me.

In the Forests of Serre is one of my favourite books, it's beautiful and lovely and everyone should read it! Go buy it!

(Incidentally, the Hungarian cover is my only paid job as a graphic artist to this day. I also translated it and got paid but I was a translator then so nothing special there.)

This fog had an underwater quality that I'd never seen before, and, for the first time in my life, I felt like it could actually be lovely to get lost in the woods (I think I mostly felt that way because there was no chance of that happening, I know those parts too well).

I can't wait for the days to get long enough to go out and watch the sunset after work.

So these are the type of Celtic knotwork inspired animal knots I make. Not all of them are this pretty (or this triangular) but I find them very relaxing to make.
