I love how dancers talk about the body and moving. The metaphors, the paradoxes, just can't have enough of them.

You want a true life horror show?

The history of microbiology.

"Bob, these bugs are now resistant to ampicillin."

"Okay, but these other guys weren't even exposed to the drug. How are they resistant?"

"Gasp!"

"What?"

"They're sending the data to each other with genetic material fragments!"

Writing is sometimes like raising small children: there are things that make sense you, and you have to make sure that somehow it makes sense to them too; you don't do it by explaining or preaching, one of your best tools is cause and effect.

I wish there was a programming language that has the problems of both Java and Javascript

Working on a new codebase, new tech stack, new architecture, and after 2 weeks I start to feel the pain points. I guess in half a year I could make it easier working with this. But first thing first, I have to deliver some sort of functionality.

Just because I work fast with one technology in one domain, it doesn't mean I also work fast with another technology, in another domain. I mean, I will but first I need to learn the new tech stack and the new domain.

There's a *reason* why you neither know nor care that lots of other states were also created in the 1940s, Pakistan, for instance, but you think this one particular state, that just happens to be a refuge for a traditionally persecuted indigenous group, is still an open question, should it exist?

Finding my subconscious patterns as logical mistakes in my story, aaargh

I guess it was a good idea to keep the outlines of this story, for it'll be easier to rewrite.

Or am I missing the chance to find something in the previous revision that I'd wish to reuse? I guess I'll never know.

When thinking about the upsetting past, asking 'why', more precisely 'Why? Why? What was the meaning of all this shit?' sends you down the rabbit hole. This shit usually has no purpose.

This autumn I've been process the comments of my editor, and while this makes the text better, my mental health suffers. I started to produce ephemeral content, a lot of political mini-essays on social media.

When tech layoffs are attributed to "AI", do they mean that "AI" has replaced those roles, or do they mean that "AI" ate their salaries?

Sometimes when I read a book, after a couple of chapters I have a solid idea what this book is going to be like, what I could say about it, etc. Nevertheless, I keep reading, hoping that the author would surprise me.

The existing pro-Palestinian movement is a lot like the existing socialisms of the 20th century in Eastern-Europe and Asia.

The last couple of weeks at work were interesting: somehow I started to enjoy this again. I especially liked how I helped to speed up my team.

Wow Google docs also supports #regex -es. \b is useful when you want to replace names, but not replace random characters within longer words.

Not sure what is the worst take regarding Israel and Palestine these days. Then one when people blame Trump for Hamas's atrocities on Palestinians, or when they blame Israel.

Once a dictatorship that took power in a coup, always a dictatorship that took power in a coup. But now that the PA has asked the world for help restoring its legitimate rule over ALL of Palestine, Hamas' days are numbered.

I just don't handle help-o-holes well. These are people who give unsolicited advice when I'm doing something comfortably within my competence. They usually don't handle well 'stop' and 'no', but they insist that they wanted to help.

So I tell them, 'here is how you can help', and they just don't.

In other words: once you are condemning the essential nature of a population as fundamentally false, parasitic & evil, you have entered Nazi territory, whether you admit to it or not.

Saying "it's not antisemitic, Jews and Israelis are unrelated," is the fig leaf of a coward.

Some hostage's smile looks a bit. No wonder, they went through 2 years of torture, violence, starvation. If (!) everything goes well, their healing can start now.
