I sure miss seeing Papíráčky's model airplanes. Do you ever scroll back and realize someone you liked hasn't been posting? This is paper, btw. Amazing.
Finished the remaining blades and attached it all to the propeller hub. #archive #papercraft #Spitfire #scalemodel #histscalemodels

In retrospect, making a whole new layout would probably have been easier.
Rookie #modelRailroad mistakes being fixed. New plan here is one long piece of unturnouted track to go around this bend and through the mountain, then move turnouts to somewhere that makes more sense. I always knew a turnout half-inside a tunnel wasn't likely to work well but it sure looked cool.

It looks like things are working again with this account, so now I have to think about what to do with a second account. Make one of them programmatic, but something useful.🤔

Yet another short intro game of Railways of the Lost Atlas. It's a fun game to teach on this map but I need to move on to the long game now.

Ah, Toronto subway. You have all the ambience of a 1971 Burger King restroom between cleanings - but I understand you, you work, and I am happy you exist!

If you get a little down and let working on your hobby slip, which makes get you a little down, etc, etc... Feeds like Model Trains or Scale Models will inspire you again, which will get you started again, which will lift you up a little, etc etc. A hobby can be anything.

Don't overdo it, but I would highly recommend learning enough javascript to be able to make your own little background noise web page if you're a light sleeper or need some tinnitus interference sounds. Think of the bandwidth saved over streaming those oddly rendered rain on log cabin videos.

Woodland Scenics street lamps added. A little pricey ($21) for a pair. WS is generally out of my price range….$170 for a building?! However, the wiring is so easy with their Just Plug system.

The month of May was a quiet modelling month, June doesn't look to be any busier due to work commitments. Here are some recent layout photos from the weekend. #bsmrguk #modelrailway #scotland #westhighlandline

If it's Cymru Rails favorite it's probably pretty good.
My favorite video to produce is LIVE! 🎉 Dive into Cardigan Junction, an incredible 300-foot HO scale American model railway in West Wales, depicting 1950s-60s Wisconsin operations. Hear from co-founder Richard Morris & see its unique operation!

Now that the layout is up and running, the 2nd channel (www.youtube.com/@the3rdrail-...) should see more frequent updates... It features short running videos, cobbled together from unused footage.

Model Railroading feed picks this up every few days & I wonder what it is, but not enough to go look. It's like that odd picture of a wild bird on a train with the exclamation "Public transportation!" that repeats in the Trains feed. What does it mean? you wonder but finding out could be a quagmire.
Now playing: Model Railroad (1950), duration 8:18, on RetroStrange TV1. Watch live: https://live.retrostrange.com #RSTV

Neat model train set I saw while out and about today. Would love to have something like this going through my garden one day.

I've found Bluesky has been pretty good for finding different hobby spaces, especially with taking advantage of the different feeds feature, I can easily say "I'm done with politics for the day, time to look at model trains or star trek"
Bluesky actually does need more people interested hobbies, those hobbies just need to not be politics. We desperately need people having long debates about cricket or doctor who or movies or whatever

It’s not so much people who talk loudly in trains and buses that I’m annoyed by, I’m mostly fascinated that people apparently live outside of their heads. It is not like that for me.

Wow, some of the special effects in Star Trek Deep Space 9 still hold up pretty well. The Odyssey vs. the Jem'Hadar and some of those epic fleet battles stand out.
