@tableflipsyou.bsky.social
Host of Mall Night Long, a virtual game show for hire. Formerly of Flip the Table. Designer of Roll Estate, a print and play dice game. McDonald’s enthusiast.
This is the first time I’ve seen this in full after hearing about how legendary it was for many years. And I can honestly say It may be my favorite televised magic performance, period.

It recaptured a willing suspension of disbelief that I’ve struggled to find at magic shows as I’ve gotten older.
Good news: If you would like to watch Ricky Jay and His 52 Assistants on YouTube I have done a painstaking 4k upscale of this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0gW...

Regardless of the time of year or geographic location, I will turn the temperature in a hotel room down to the lowest possible setting and set the fan to always on as soon as I arrive.

This is because hotel blankets trap heat like crazy, and my body temperature at 3:00 AM will be 5,000 degrees.

Let that sink in.

This seems like a natural next phase of the “get Doom to run on everything” meme.

The promo in question prominently featured a big tub of green slime, and the episode itself kept teasing the risk of an overflow of green slime, but ain’t nobody got dumped into the tub. One person got dribbled on slightly.
As a kid, a promo for a certain episode of Tales from the Darkside scared me to death. It was about a machine that extracted sin from people in the form of green slime; never watched it, but just the promo haunted my nightmares.

I finally watched the episode today, and LOL, what. (1/2)

Aurora Borealis might be visible from my kitchen tonight, which, without getting into details, is a huge relief for this luncheon I'm planning with my boss

Give an idiot a fish, and he ends up smelling like a fish…
Give an idiot one of the best VHS games to be released in 1993, and you get this.

When I quit Flip the Table in 2017, I figured its influence would likely peter out entirely within a year or two, with the cheesy games we covered once again forgotten.

Anyway, @flipflorey.bsky.social just sent me this from an official PAXU email.

He’s my hero.

Kinda random, but I find myself reflecting on my favorite PS2 games. Before I switched to XBox 360, these titles were my faves…

Frequency (See Also: Amplitude)
The SmackDown series
Tony Hawk 3 & 4
Zone of the Enders
State of Emergency
Evil Dead: Fistful of Boomstick
All the Spiders Mans

We finally finished Succession over the weekend, crashing through the last 5 episodes while the kids were at their grandparents. A volume of sudden alignment shifts rivaled only by early 00’s WCW, but an overall satisfying end. I ate a Boston Cream Pie for dinner. It was a good Saturday.

So the Arizona Great Buy 99 card game is absolutely a reimplementation of ONO 99 (itself based on a traditional card game), but it’s one I like quite a lot. The theme works perfectly, and the small gameplay tweaks feel like good quality of life updates.

It’s a V:TES night, and we’re way overdue to play. I’m excited, but already overthinking which deck I’m going to play.

Not sure why, since I can count on one hand the number of games I’ve won outright since picking it back up a few years ago. But no, THIS time, it will be different.

In about a month, I have a vacation coming, and part of the plan is “watch things on my list of things to watch.”

Top priorities are finishing up Blippo+, seeing Flash Gordon for the first time (I KNOW, way overdue), and getting some horror movies off my list.

Hi, I’m Chris and I’m addicted to commercial compilations.

Not all the time, mind, but it’s a go-to while I am washing dishes and cooking dinner. A 20-30 minute period to step into a Time Machine and see what television was actually like before Far Cry Blood Dragon rewired our understanding of it.
