BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.

This is incredible. Boris Johnson was in such a rush to deport people to Rwanda, he agreed the UK would pay Rwanda £290M with no real guarantees

Then when Starmer came in, he triumphantly announced it dead, but forgot to actually cancel it and now owes another £100M

There's a dollar "vibe shift" happening now that is different from past bouts of dollar pessimism. You might be skeptical. That's understandable since the de-dollarization narrative has been around for years now, and little has changed about the dollar's global position. 1/

For the first time in history, middle-class Mexicans outnumber those in poverty. In Africa, only 4 (7.4%) of the countries have hit this milestone: Seychelles (90% middle class), Mauritius (80%), Tunisia (60%), Morocco (53%). In South America 42% have hit the milestone, and in Asia 35%.
Historic milestone: Middle class Mexicans now outnumber those in poverty
The Mexican government on Friday claimed that for the first time in history more  Mexicans are categorized as middle class than poor.

There's a type of survey that is fueling talk of a young adult religious revival in the UK & the US.

You should be concerned about this type of survey because it is increasingly common and it may produce misleading results on many topics other than religion.

Despite the widely recognized decline of Christianity in the U.K., there have been persistent rumblings of a Christian resurgence.
