As much as we like to say what our grandparents did to Nazis (well, those of us with non-Nazi grandparents), we need to remember that it was only because Germany got too expansionist. It wasn't about stopping the Holocaust. Our countries sent Jewish refugees back to die.

For some reason I woke up thinking about fruit flies this morning (I swear there are none in my home), so after some checking and math, as many generations of them have passed this year alone as humans since William the Conqueror.

Was hanging out with a friend recently who travels in Certain Circles and she offhandedly mentioned that Elon Musk goes to sex parties in Austin, which immediately summoned up the absolutely horrifying prospect of being in the same sex party as Elon Musk

I didn't see an aurora tonight but I have seen them, and some breathtaking ones, and that was within the city. I couldn't imagine how they would have been away from all the light pollution but I have seen some clear night skies in the country and that's a good place to start.

I can't stand Hallmark's Christmas movies but Netflix usually has some decent to good ones so watching those has become my Dec 25th custom in the last few years. I do have to be careful though, some bad ones do slip through.
