For @slate.com I wrote about taking Lupron, a controversial drug that has put me in menopause. I'm not even 30.

Hello. I wrote a story about bumper stickers, a demonic cassette tape, and sad clowns.

Big thanks to @foofarawpress.bsky.social for giving it a home & Fright Club for the space (and idea) to write.

I'm working on a project about dryads and would love recommendations for books about dryads, nature spirits, nymphs, or anything that seems somewhat relevant.

[AI] is not your therapist
it does not know or care about what is best for you
it’s not your friend/partner
it does not know you or wish to know you

it has no will of its own and will only ever be a tool of capitalism
its purpose is replacing jobs (yes, even yours) to make the rich richer
it's made by fascists
it's always been a scam
it doesn't do what it says it does

it is not sentient
it will never be sentient
it is not a god
it will never become a god

it is provably reducing your ability to think and feel

Finishing up revisions on Death Wish, vol. 2, so it will be ready for Charleston Zine Fest on July 9. So much new material for this one & I'm excited to share it -- and work on the design.

I got stung by a fire ant yesterday and one of the worst parts is I have to take Benadryl to combat the itchiness and burning sensation... but now I'm too sleepy to write!

Ok, so I have a memoir project, a novel revision, and a novel first draft I'm working on. Any advice from the #writercommunity on how to manage multiple projects at once?

Do you pick one and stick with it? Work on each based on some kind of regular schedule? Just vibe out?

I am working on a couple of book projects and finally decided to give Scrivener a try and, oh my god, this is so much easier than the messy Google Docs system I was trying to use.

My partner, who does endurance sports, has longer training sessions in the summer, which means I have longer writing sessions! In the fall/winter, I find myself "squeezing in" writing around life responsibilities and peak running training for autumn races.

#HorrorWritersChat question 2:

How does you writing ritual or process differ in summer from the colder months?

Hi - I'm Sydney/Syd. I'm currently working on a memoir about running & mental health and a queer YA/NA crossover about ghosts and hauntings.

I'm drawn to horror b/c it gives me the space to think about and process the dark things I experience with major depressive disorder.

Yello everyone, here we are for this week's #HorrorWritersChat

Here is question 1: Introduce yourself: Tell us who you are, what you write, and why horror resonates with you

You become a local celebrity. Your favourite ice cream parlour wants to make a special ice cream named after you. Describe it!

I watched my mother's gaze follow the solstice sunrise over the horizon. She grasped my fingers and the sharp scent of iron wafting to my nose in the early morning.

"It is finished," she said, and I looked over the cliff at the man splayed out on the altar below. "We are free."

#HorrorWritersChat
#HorrorWritersChat question 4 (last question but stick around in ten minutes for the outro):

Creative writing time! In a single post, write a horror story or a horror poem using the term "Solstice sunrise"

this was a thoughtful reflection on an experience getting medical help and bumping up against emotional challenges. it’s so easy to compare our journeys with health and wellness to other people, but ultimately we have to do what is right for US, regardless of how others interpret our choices.
