Tanzanian mainstream media is not reporting, and BBC Swahili appears to be the only international coverage in-country. While clips abound online, despite internet being blocked, it will take time to work out what has been happening.
Huge, unprecedented protests in Tanzania yesterday. I've found literally one post on bluesky. This is why some of us can't fully shut our twitter accounts, much as we might wish to.

Tightening repression guarantees Samia Suluhu Hassan’s victory, but has strained her own party. Will she and her party come out stronger?
Arrests, abductions, and political exclusion have sidelined Tanzania’s opposition ahead of the 29 October elections. With rivals barred and leaders jailed, President Hassan and the CCM are set to extend their rule — uninterrupted since 1961.
