With the BBC director general resigning, I would like to recommend @vladvexler.bsky.social's take on the controversy. The problem is that mainstream media does not understand how to report the statements of post-truth politicians such as Trump. And they will keep losing if they don't learn it.

Tim Davie was one of the best D-Gs the BBC has had, and Deborah Turness was a brilliant head of news. Only the BBC’s enemies could possibly be glad they’ve resigned. We’ve now got a real fight on our hands to defend public service broadcasting, because that’s under threat too.

I continue to think that the BBC is one of Britain’s most important institutions, and it has been an honour to occasionaly contribute to their work in recent years. It has set international standards of journalism.
The resignations of Tim Davie and Deborah Turness must be an opportunity for the BBC to turn a new leaf, rebuild trust and resist those like Nigel Farage who want to destroy it
