So glad I raised Gen Z kids…but this survey breaks my heart when I read that only 44% of Gen Z (males or females) voted in 2024. As a GenXer, I’ve never NOT voted since I turned 18.
In our annual 19th News/SurveyMonkey poll, we can look at results by generation and gender. One dynamic jumps out over and over: Gen Z women are the most liberal group in the country.

On issues like abortion and gender-affirming care, women 28 and younger skew substantially more left than the national average.

This framing of the political divide is quite accurate. I’m pro-democracy.
The biggest divide in America today is not between “right” and “left,” or between Republicans and Democrats.
It’s between democracy and oligarchy.
The old labels — “right” and “left” — prevent most people from noticing they’re being shafted.
