Children's books and charity comms. Bristol, UK. Nerdy gay. Cats, food, hobbies I never do but mean to, beer. Tired. Like a nan but one who's really into trans rights.
Sorry for the RT flurry but WTAF, I know UK govt is at minimum ridiculous every ten minutes or so but honestly. Just stop being on X.

Writing this I had to look through Grok's mentions. Earlier I counted around 8 requests PER MINUTE featuring "bikini" and "her". Thousands of women and girls stripped each day. I found users stripping dozens of women per hour, from female celebrities to gym selfies.

Ofcom figures from *last month* show that more UK adults regularly access Wikipedia than X, and that X reach and usage is in steady decline: bsky.app/profile/outs...

Even if you choose to ignore all of the foul content there, it simply isn't that popular and is becoming less so with time.
Interesting headline figures from Ofcom's latest report - fewer UK adults using X than Wikipedia (or Tesco online, for that matter.) Fulll report www.ofcom.org.uk/media-use-an...

For every minute Britons spend on Twitter, they spend:

35 minutes on YouTube
35 minutes on Facebook/Messenger
11 minutes on Instagram
7 minutes on TikTok
5 minutes on Snapchat.

If the UK government wants to scale down on Twitter than it's really not a problem for directly reaching people.

If there is an argument then this is the argument. But lol I can’t find where this obviously false stat is coming from. And if the government does believe more than half the families in the UK are using it as their primary news source then woah maybe time to up the scrutiny of it!

In honor of Hayao Miyazaki's birthday, what's your favorite Studio Ghibli film? Doesn't have to be the one you think is "the best," just the one that nestled in your heart. Mine is Howl's Moving Castle.

I do not believe in the death penalty for humans.

I do support the death penalty for corporations.

When they murder people, let's dissolve them. Break them up, destroy their technology, nationalize their assets.

I have done my tax return! Normally this is depressing because I made no income. This year it's depressing cos I sold a book and yet it still feels like I made no money because everything costs nine hundrety billion pounds. (I have a salaried job as well but I work for a charity so, see above.)

A very long and important THREAD -

The real reason the US is invading Venezuela goes back to a deal Henry Kissinger made with Saudi Arabia in 1974.

And I'm going to explain why this is actually about the SURVIVAL of the US dollar itself.

Not drugs. Not terrorism. Not "democracy." 1/

In Wake Up Dead Man, Kerry Washington exposes the Big Lie and within a beat every man, every gull finds a way to excuse it. Every day it feels more horrifyingly resonant. Don't know why I keep expecting Today's New Horror to be the tipping point but surely there's got to be one.
