I worked harder on this book than any before it. My ex-publisher then failed to pay me what they owed me for it & did their best to ruin its chances of survival. That robbed me of a year of my life & ruined my health.

After all that, to see reviews like this one brings me close to tears too.
Bloody hell! It’s been a long time since a book has brought me to tears. @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social Thank you so very much for writing Everything Will Swallow You. Book of the year. #BookSky #TheStorygraph

It's Remembrance Sunday and let's remember that the black and brown people fought and died as part of the Allies too.

In my new novel - Nate Yu's Blast From the Past
I feature a ghost from the Chinese Labour Corp because it was important for me to tell readers about this often untold history.

Was in Lidl during the 2 mins silence today, only clocked it due to a staff member running down the aisle shouting 'Two minutes silence!' with all the confidence of someone who knows we are all looking at tat in the middle aisle. Two mins silence occurs. 90% of shop continues chatting about scented

Japan's "Mundane Halloween" costume contest is back!

Each year website DailyPortalZ holds a contest where people dress up as something super duper ordinary.

Here's a thread of some of my favorites from the 2025 contest!

I'm proud to announce my latest pin design!

These are for everyone with split pronouns who gets tired of people only referring to them one way. My lenticular pin shows different pronouns at different angles!

Please share with anyone who might like one 💖 canopyrobin.etsy.com/listing/4396... #SciArt

'I was just about to drop off, when suddenly, 'tap, tap, tap' at the window, you know who it was? Bleedin' Ozymandias! Stark naked save for a cold sneering visage. He was hanging on the window sill, I could see his trunkless legs all white, saying 'Peter, look upon my works, Peter, and despair!'

Ozymandias
Legs over there but his body is here in the sand
Sneer of command.
Look at his works, kings.
Not much is left of his power and glorious reign.
Nothing remains

Once upon a desert sandy
As through winds the trav'ling man he
Spied the face of Ozymandy
Lying, simply lying there
Suddenly there was some writing
Pon the plinth that he was sighting
That the sand and time were blighting
Quoth the statue, "Now despair"
There was an old man you could gaze
At his works in despair in a daze
If you looked upon them
And were mere mortal men
'Ozymandias mighty', it says
My name is Pagliacci, Clown of Clowns. Look on my works, ye doctors; I despair.

In case you missed this: In New Braunfels ISD last week, parents, students, teachers, and community members came together to speak up against the book banners who got the district’s high school & middle school libraries closed. And they forced to board to reverse its decision.

I wrote a piece last week about how the Far Right since Trump/Brexit have normalised discussing in public previously unacceptable things.

Tonight’s Peston show: “Is the Reform MP who says she’s driven mad by TV adverts full of Black and Asian people a racist or realist?”

Reminder that food banks have the ability to buy food in bulk and can make the most out of the economy of scale so cash (if you have it) is always preferred.

But also, they're not going to say no to your pantry items. 💚
I just donated to my local food bank. If you can, you should too. People are already suffering but next month, in particular, is going to be so difficult.

Can confirm, the degree to which research has gotten wildly harder in the last decade is huge. I'd be sunk if I hadn't compiled my massive Moore/Morrison interview database when I started Last War in Albion. That shit simply wouldn't be findable now.
I don't think we understand just how bad the decline of the Internet is to knowledge.

3 years ago, I could perform a very basic search in any engine and get an absurd number of relevant links, research articles, etc.

Today, I can perform the same search and find absolutely nothing.
