Genocide in Gaza, raids on immigrants and attacks on DEI have spurred calls to boycott companies like Home Depot, Target and Microsoft.

MAGA opposes free and fair elections because they don’t want working people to have the power to throw corrupt billionaire politicians out of office.
NEW: Republican attorney Eric Neff — who boasts a reputation of working with election-conspiracy theorists and who himself spread such theories — is replacing a veteran attorney with ties to Cleta Mitchell as the new acting chief of the voting section at the DOJ.

As tenant organizing levels up, so does its opposition. Great article, and for me it reinforces the idea that conditions may be right in many places to campaign for the statutory right of tenant unions to collectively bargain rents—thereby changing power-relations and the terrain of tenant struggle.
Tenant union members say they’ve faced threats, surveillance and retaliation from their private equity landlord, which has retained a notorious “union avoidance” firm.

@rebeccaburns.bsky.social & @thomasbirm.bsky.social report on old-school union-busting tactics being used against renters.

main economic message from
the president is that you will be poorer and you will like it
Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."

“'They came here thinking they wouldn’t be bothered,” one Appalachian State University student told The Appalachian at the impromptu rally. “Boone is a small, southern, white, mountain town. We need to let them know they’ll be bothered anywhere they go.'"

Any one of us could be in the next apartment building that ICE raids in the middle of the night.

Any one of us could be on the next boat that Trump bombs on a whim.

Any one of us could be detained for hours despite being a U.S. citizen.

Authoritarianism hurts all of us.

@surj.org Lansing Home Depot boycott! ❄️
A blizzard couldn’t stop our tiny-but-mighty crew of 5—we talked with shoppers, got tons of honks, and kept the pressure on.

Best part? A burly dude bought us hot chocolates at Tim Hortons & joined our chapter. Solidarity is what we build ❤️

Right now there are an estimated 59,000 people held in ICE detention centers. We want to have at least 159 people become boycott planners with us to show our solidarity. Can you join us?

Today there was an attempted ICE raid in Bensonhurst & community members showed up. Even though NYPD collaborated with ICE by trying to disburse the crowd; community members stood their ground & ICE left without kidnapping a single person per the rapid response groups I'm on. We protect us!

ICE has been targeting day laborers in Home Depot parking lots all over the country, and Home Depot has stayed silent. This is unacceptable. If anyone is unsafe at Home Depot, then we are all unsafe.

Avelo is an ICE Air charter, transporting shackled detainees on deportation flights. You'll not be shocked to learn that the flights are a fiasco: loss of cabin pressure, slow evacuations, dangerous cargo onboard, no safety checks, long tarmack delays.
Great piece by Gillian Brockell:
ICE Air’s Sloppy, Dangerous Deportation Flights - The American Prospect
Poor planning, mechanical issues, serious safety lapses, and the shutdown are taking a toll on Avelo, America’s most famous deportation airline, internal documents show.
