A mom in Houston reported her 15-year-old son with autism missing. She spent 6 days terrified, searching for him. The whole time, Houston police knew exactly where he was since they helped ICE place him in a refugee facility.

On one hand this was incredibly stupid & pointless use of AI, a thing which cannot taste or judge anything. On the other hand, I’m very glad it shamed & ruined the credentials of the people who tried to use AI to make profits off volunteer experts. So overall I give it a 9.5.

Society is cooked if we’re going to just put time into telling a bot how we’d like to interact with an individual rather than be direct. I can’t fathom asking AI to write a message to my spouse when I can cut out the middleman and do it myself.

Minneapolis is a vibrant, safe city that is a joy to visit…. even when it’s -10 F outside. The people are kind, the food delicious and craft beer scene is top notch.
I did an outdoor yoga class in a minneapolis park the other day. And my husband is, right now, playing softball in a Minneapolis park. My son is, right now, standing on dock fishing for northern pike, also in a Minneapolis park.
