‘Together’ is everything. DIY at scale - growing organic food, fixing community roads, assembling low waste houses, building large sail ships, founding global collectives, facilitating chocolate tonnage, bringing hundreds together.
Pretty much every week, in response to something I’m planning, someone opens their eyes wide …. pulls back a bit …. and exclaims ‘yuh mad!’

If ‘madness’ used in this context means I’m seeing possibilities that are TOTALLY out of the box then yes. I proudly accept the label.

🚨 There’s a lot of horrific news out of Washington right now—but you might have missed this: Senate Republicans just introduced a plan to sell off 120 million acres of our public lands.

Let me break down what’s in the bill and why it’s a full-scale land grab. 🧵

This is the best archive possible for No Kings Day!!! I’m a subscriber to @sethabramson.bsky.social and I don’t suggest many things but I’d suggest you GO SUBSCRIBE! Literally hundreds of hopeful pics!
(🧵) I’ve never—in 30 years in journalism—published a report like this: one that could genuinely bring hope. I spent the last 15 hours curating and labeling photos from hundreds of No Kings Day protests. It’s the largest archive of its kind and it has *lots* of Easter eggs (memes, an essay and more).
Over 250 Photos From Around the Nation and the World From the Historic “No Kings Day” Protests
Almost no one showed up to Donald Trump’s surprisingly timid, depressing, and generally lackluster birthday party in Washington, but protests against him were bursting at the seams across the globe.

Say it after me: Chat GPT is not a search engine. It does not scan the web for information, it just generates statistically likely sentences. You cannot use it a search engine, or as a substitute for searching.

Now. Please never use an LLM for information searches ever again.

It’s been slightly challenging to cut back my use of AI after my initial excitement about it. But. I have cut back. I thought it would help with classism but instead it’s eventually going to worsen it by destroying vulnerable ecosystems. My question s now are - where is it useful and why?
Don't know who needs to hear it but...AI is a labor devaluation/cost reduction scheme for the owner class. If you tell yourself that you don't have enough time in the day to do your work and your life without using AI, then you are solving for the wrong problem.

If there's one thing that domestic violence research has taught me, it's that abusers set up no-win scenarios. They punish you whether you cooperate with them or whether you push back.

The only way out is to strengthen ties with people outside of the relationship who can create new, better options.

It’s hard to explain to folks that I left home today in the pre-dawn dark with a chocolate dabbed men’s underwear head wrap to go gyrating down the street to pan music and yet simultaneously remain deeply engaged in decolonizing chocolate supply chains and dismantling systems of oppression.

Carnival is full of amazing emotions - exuberance, creative outpouring, connection, pride, AND a ton of challenging ones - regret, tabanca, restlessness, longing, craving & more. 4 days till it’s done, costume still unmade (in photo), missed many fetes, didn’t exercise enough, no Jouvay band. Lawd!
