As well as the White Paper, the Home Office published a lot of very useful research yesterday.

Funnily enough, this chart didn't make it into the White Paper.

[NB median PAYE earnings for all employees was £28K]

In the days of lovely Twitter I often put out a call for help with research in writing my books. So here goes, Bluskiers.

I'm looking for a social worker (adoption/fostering preferably) and a probation officer who worked between 2008 and 2012, the more senior the better.

Please share :)

A piece of red tarmac and a piece of black tarmac were drinking in a bar.
"Strange coincidence", says the barman, "we don't get many pieces of tarmac in, but there's another of you just round the corner. He's green."
"We're not talking to him", say the first two, "he's a cycle path."

I am putting together a long-term piece on law and AI.

I am a IP lawyer by background, and a lot of the discussion on legal (if not the techie) side is not informed by any deep understanding and knowledge of what IP laws can/cannot do.

And as per quote below, IP law is not a single, static thing.
I am still putting together thoughts on this.

But one point is that IP law is not really a single thing - they are an assortment of property rights doing different things, that emerged at various stages of economic/technological history.

AI may need fresh thinking, rather than shoehorning trad IP.

Why does Farage (head of a limited company with 5 MPs - one of whom has also been Labour and Tory)

Get so much more air time than the Lib Dems (72 MPs)?

In fact, even Tice gets more airtime

I need your advice.
On X I publish daily news from Ukraine (a long tweet). I tried here, but the threads were long and you didn’t read.
But I want to share what’s going on here. We are gradually disappearing from your media.
So I came to ask what you could advise.
