The governor is holding a presser today to bolster his proposal to slash energy efficiency & clean energy.

Toray Plastics, speaking at the presser, ironically has received large investments from these programs to help lower their energy usage and stabilize bills:

Diversifying our energy sources is actually how we stabilize our energy rates -not expanding existing, antiquated system.

Regardless of if you care about climate change - cutting energy efficiency & doubling down on gas at the detriment of local businesses & local jobs doesn't make economic sense.
AnderBois argues that blame for rising utility bills rests with RIE's insistence on maintaining & upgrading its natural gas infrastructure instead of pivoting toward all renewables. (The law allows utilities to make a profit on infrastructure investments.)
