I used a calculator to make sure I did this correctly because I was so stunned I did not believe it:

Our family's ACA plan is going up 1000.52% in 2026.

1000% and that is no exaggeration. For a plan that already has a $2000 per-person deductible before anything kicks in. WE CANNOT AFFORD IT!

"The crush on that person who sucks, the breakup that came out of nowhere, the feeling that love will never find you, no matter how hard you try—we've all had those feelings that would never hold up in a court of law."

Hell yes to this essay; also love the "yelling is how you release sadness"
"when I, with my supposed iron stomach for sadness, try to think of the saddest song I've ever heard, my mind goes to that CD that Sam gave Jennifer, and the one song I couldn’t believe was on it."

The last two times the aurora were supposedly visible for my area, I couldn’t find them no matter how far out of town I drove, and I couldn’t stand looking at everybody’s pictures because I was so jealous. So just give me this. I finally got them!

I’m wrecked for the rest of the day because Cat’s Eye was dedicated to “S” and in her new book, Margaret Atwood confirmed after all these years that Cordelia was real and her name was Sandra 😭😭😭

This is why you preorder from your local indie bookstore—SIGNED FIRST EDITIONS FROM YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORRRR (to join the copies of Cat’s Eye and Morning in the Burned House she signed for me in 2000 and 2014)! Dolly Parton releases “9 to 5” 45 yrs ago today.

“I knew what it was like to be a working woman trying to make a decent living, trying to be taken seriously. .. I wanted a song that sounded playful on the surface but spoke to that frustration .. A song about women .. saying, ‘We deserve better.’”

I say this with much humility: yea, I was the one to blame for our old site, I am not a web designer and it was obvious BUT NOW IT'S GOLDEN!
We've got news! Our amazing creative director Maggie made us a new website (and those of you who've suffered through our barely-functional mobile phone version are going to LOVE how much easier it is to click through our site now)!

• Posted a video of himself dropping shit on the American people
• Demanded a $230 million payout from his own Department of Justice

Also the federal government is still shut down, but, y’know…
