Former paid liar.
Advisor/ghostwriter to Japan PMs Abe, Suga and Kishida, speechwriter for Tokyo Gov. Koike.
Still deciding whether I’m retired or just a bum. Born🇺🇸, living🇯🇵, trying to speak🇫🇷🇲🇽🇸🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.
Have the same name pretty much everywhere. He/him
Had just finished working out and was a bit brain-foggy from fatigue. Stepped heavily into the locker room and nearly crashed into the guy coming out. He stepped out of my way and I mumbled an apology.

Realized after it was the wrestler Takayama.

Could be a useful leverage point to cudgel manufacturers and retailers into more responsible packaging.
Tokyoites are up in arms over Governor Koike Yuriko's plan to institute garbage collection fees in the area's 23 wards. She claims it's necessary to curtail waste and points to a successful program in Tokyo's Tama as proof that it'll work across the metropolis.

Thinking about how we’ve been batting 1.000 with “every accusation is a confession,” has anyone checked with Vance’s neighbors about missing pets?

Not going to photograph people in the train, but the young lady in front of me has a bag with “EAT ME” printed all down the shoulder strap.

I still feel the internet hit a high water mark around 2010-12 before enshittification took over.

Sacrificing what little leftist cred I have to point out that this is the role of a valet, while a butler is more of a household manager.

Jeeves was a valet, not a butler.
rich dudes got freakier after butlers fell out of fashion, like say what you will about having domestic servants but clearly it was some sort of moderating force on old rich dudes having a fancy man follow you around saying shit like "oh dear sir, that wouldn't be very becoming"

At no point since college have I had a career plan that went beyond “I guess that sounds interesting.”

Retired last year. I’d like to think skillful investment or social choices were the key, but I have to admit to being obscenely lucky.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

I commend the Toyama basketball team on creating a suitably fierce logo, but have any of them actually seen a grouse?

I love that, for all their automation, communication, and remote detection and control systems, trains in Japan still include a slot in the dash panel for the driver to place their pocket watch.

Sure, Fox News. Whatever helps you cope.

Now that October is over, I will be reverting to my original name.
Since it’s now October, I’ll be adding “Monster” to my name. Spooky!

Damn, getting seriously gaijin seat-ed this morning on the Keihin Tohoku line. One got up to move away and one stopped while about to sit down.

Holy crap, Tabelog (食べログ) charges ¥900 to make reservations now!?

I made the reservation at about 6pm, arriving at 7, so it’s not a cancellation or no-show charge.

Did my last wedding ceremony yesterday. Pretty fun actually, the ring-bearers were two dogs in wedding dresses.

Having free time after my semi-voluntary retirement, I reached out to the wedding company I worked with back in the 00s to see about going back to minister/performer work.

After doing it for two months, I decided to quit.

My streaming service has/had an AI porn section, so I decided to check one out. Even for porn AI was too lifeless and unnatural to be watchable. It looked like someone using corpses as marionettes.

Because Japanese sentences can drop all specific information and nearly all parts of speech while remaining acceptably grammatical for everyday speech, the language is ideal for abuse through gaslighting. Especially by those working with non-native speakers.
