I love that, for all their automation, communication, and remote detection and control systems, trains in Japan still include a slot in the dash panel for the driver to place their pocket watch.

Because Japanese sentences can drop all specific information and nearly all parts of speech while remaining acceptably grammatical for everyday speech, the language is ideal for abuse through gaslighting. Especially by those working with non-native speakers.
