Clean forgot about Valentine's candy exchange for the younger kids tomorrow.

I haven't forgotten y'all. I'm just about done, ended up falling down a fun few rabbit holes.
With everything going on, if you have kids, talk to them. They're paying attention and they have a lot of questions.

Black folks, for BHM and beyond, introduce our babies to black literature. Like really sit down a discuss it with them. Langston Hughes is a great starting point, because (1/)

I have no idea what’s going on but I would like the quarterback for the team with the racist name to keep getting sacked again

Ok, I'm following the trend:

I, fervent Math hater, just helped my son find the slope of some graphs, or however you say it, which is some shit I haven't thought about since Bush Jr's second term.

Please clap.

I served on a mission trip with a white SA girl (most of us were black) and she legit went to leadership and complained we were being mean to her --- because we weren't tripping up over ourselves to give her the best sleeping spots, or lightening her workload. I kid you not, that's what she said.
I was telling my husband earlier that- as I teen- I used to have penpals from around the world. One was a (white, Afrikaner) South African girl.

At first, it was cool learning about her life on the farm, but then it got sinister. And then outright racist. I noped out so fast.

Why is my cat screaming at us, even though he has water and dry *and* wet cat food?

Bluesky, it's because his wet food isn't wet enough.

I'm remembering the year Lemonade was up for AOTY and while Adele was apologizing, Beyonce was smiling and being (as always) gracious, but crying at the same time.

I'm in my feelings. I'm so happy for Beyonce and in retrospect, I'm really happy it was *this* album that won.

Working on *another* school project with one of the kids. We put this one off to the last minute 😭
Making a construction paper replica of animal and plant cells. Wish us luck y'all

Think “these are human beings” is clarifying as it implies the people they imagined being deported were somehow not.

Trying to run out to Costco before all the churches let out...but all the hot water got used up. Cold showers are not my portion.

3/ Aid is often framed as charity, but the truth is more complex. It’s tied to legacies of colonialism, exploitation, and economic systems designed to benefit the few at the expense of the many. These histories shape who gives, who receives, and how those relationships are viewed.

It's really the little things. My calendar from @willquinnart.bsky.social just got here. I'm not affiliated him in any way, I just found his work here on the app. In these times, please find something that soothes your spirit. This little calendar already brightened my day.

Cats are not loyal. Like, at all.

Let our cat outside after he slept in his fluffy bed, ate his wet food, got pets and scritches (he's a reformed outdoor cat, he's not used to staying indoors indefinitely)

I promise I'm not being smug saying this, but having lived in North AL during the Obama years, *nothing* that is happening now is a shock.

They have been talking about doing everything they're currently implementing for *years* now. At least 15 years now. (1/)

My 14 year old just volunteered for litter box duty to get extra gaming time. We started living with a cat about month ago, so this is his first time. I gave him a mask and gloves, but he underestimated the smell of cat piss.

He's really locked in for that extra time 😭😭😭

My daughter had her recital this weekend and she did extremely well. But when I went to pick her up, she broken down crying. She was feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything, but she held it together until she was with me. And I made sure my baby was good before we drove home. It's an honor.
