If the basic project is expanding and straightening the American empire, everything this administration has done - destroy soft power, wreck alliances, abandon shared ideals, withdraw for the intl institutions America built, and general erratic behavior - will have the opposite effect.

Just spitballing here, but I think the founders probably wouldn't have approved of a President putting the entirety of a highly militarized federal government on a war footing against a state because he didn't like how they voted in the last election. But I'm sure John Roberts knows what he's doing.

I wrote on the latest rash of disruption to undersea cables in the Baltic sea. Still no clear evidence this is the work of Russia. Some of this storm-related. But fact that Finland & Latvia are boarding ships shows that they are concerned about deliberate sabotage.
