There is no such thing as the best tool for all audio engineers. It's very much a subjective thing that changes over time. With that in mind, here's three audio plugins that impressed me in 2025:

Although an EA title, Assetto Corsa Rally might be the best rally game to date. It doesn't matter if you play with a gamepad, you can still feel the weight of the cars. And don't get me started on the (a)symmetrical break and tire settings ... Vroom vroom to the store and buy the game! 🚗

I love my cast-iron pan so much I don't use it. Okay, that's a lie. I actually use it as a dumbbell. It might be one of the best multipurpose tools out there. You either make food with it, burn calories, or both!

This has been a day and a half. Woke up to a handful of emails telling me that my tools are no more and that I have to embrace even more enshitification. Luckily, it seems like most brands decided to intrudce their changes at the same time, which makes it easy to plan for 2026.

Last night's wild Game 7 has me fully baseball-brained!
I want to see someone make a baseball roguelike! Each game is a run. You could have meta progression across the "season". And the playoffs are a hardcore gauntlet at the end.

I might not be a baseball aficionado, but a good idea is a good idea.
The other day I did too much and messed up my knee to the point I'm doing bunny hops on one leg. Most would consider it a problem. I see it as an opportunity to sit down and play games.

If there's one takeaway from this installment of Steam Next Fest, it's that we'll be seeing as many Backrooms-like games as we've seen Vampire Survivor–likes.
