Disappointing verdict, but we fought like hell and will keep fighting like hell.

MARSHALL FARMS NEXT
We are thrilled to report that beagle experimentation breeder Ridglan Farms will CLOSE. This follows the 2022 closure of Envigo, & leaves only one large breeder of beagles for experiments (Marshall Farms). Congratulations to everyone who helped achieve this goal. More details to come.

Great op-ed in the LA Times by Matthew Liebman and Kristen Stilt regarding why the necessity defense should be applied to rescuing animals from suffering.

We're two days into our defense of Zoe Rosenberg, with trial expected to last through the end of October (😵‍💫).
Contributor: Why rescuing animals should never be a crime
Saving a dog from a hot car is a brave act. Would you say the same about freeing chickens from a factory farm?

We have been fighting so hard in this case and I am crying at the fact that RICO has been dismissed.

On its surface, this case involving chickens, ducks, & criminal trespass may seem far from the @nonhumanrights.bsky.social’s ordinary work. But when a court categorically excludes animals from a legal doctrine that protects against significant evil, it sets a dangerous precedent for all animals. 1/

July 13 will make 6 years since Willem Van Spronsen sacrificed his life to take action against ICE.

From the vantage point of 2025, we can see that he correctly identified ICE as representing the forefront of both totalitarianism and ethnic cleansing.

Take a moment to read his final manifesto.
