I really WANT to like NBC Nightly News, but Ryan Nobles' continues to do an awful job on the #shutdown story, NEVER mentioning that it's about healthcare costs and medicaid, making it seem just like a political dustup. Both #abc and #cbs managed to provide context. @nbcnews.com do better!!!

What he said. Horrific.
•ABC: fires Kimmel for mocking Trump
•CBS: fires Colbert for mocking Trump
•ABC: fires Moran for slamming Stephen Miller
•MSNBC: fires Matt Dowd for saying “hateful thoughts lead to hateful actions”

•FOX: Champions Brian Kilmeade as he calls for Nazi state murder of America’s 600K homeless people

Has anyone else noticed that Comedy Central is not bleeping the daily show tonight? There are lots of “fucks” in tonight show and they’re coming across loud and clear.

The #sanewashing #brokentimes chronicles, chapter 753... amazing!
We make jokes about this sometimes because it’s laughable. But when journalists try to make sense of the nonsensical, rational out of the irrational, and coherence out of the incoherence, they affirmatively do the public interest great harm.

Me too! You?
I haven’t watched even a second of CNN since Election Day. I don’t miss it at all. Not one bit.

Anyone else out there like me?

More "sanewashing," this time from #Axios: at what point does the media stop pretending that it doesn't "veer" and that EVERY time he speaks, it is a crazy "campaign-style"ranting speech? @jeffjarvis.bsky.social

For God's sake, can someone please name a film, any film, that DIDN'T get a 7+ minute standing ovation at Cannes?? Asking for a friend.... #cannes

What she said..
It's hard to adequately describe how scary it is to watch mainstream political journalists barely push back against a sitting U.S. president accepting a $400M plane from a foreign government that would literally be designated as an emergency command-and-control center during a nuclear war.

This is painful, and saddening, and embarrassing. I feel like we're losing a member of the family - and for no good reason other than that some Americans wanted another season of the worst reality TV show in history.

Of all the bizarre stories spraying out of the MAGA/transition firehose of weirdness this week, this stands above and apart :)

Funny, growing up in the 60s and 70s, most of the women featured in men's magazines were also "broad-breasted whites"
The turkeys sold for Thanksgiving at Troll Bridge Farm in Arcade, New York, are broad-breasted whites, and most weigh between 16 and 19 pounds. They cost $5 per pound for a total cost of $80 to $95. Here's why.
Why a Pasture-Raised Thanksgiving Turkey Costs $95
Humanely raised turkeys are often more expensive because they eat high-quality food, require more space, and take extra time to raise.
