you start fixing this by actually allowing a new generation to take control of the levers of party power. the current gerontocracy that runs the party is stuck 30+ years in the past that thinks that a good hit on cnn or a nyt op-ed remains the best way to get the message out to to the voting public.
the democratic party’s basic problem is it has almost no control over how its message reaches the ears of voters, especially outside of presidential election years. but rather than devote serious time, attention and cash to that problem its consultants and pundits want to fight factional battles

again, seeing a LOT of discourse here from people that aren't from and likely have never visited maine slamming people for "defending a tattoo" and missing the point about what actually makes this guy popular with actual voters in maine. we'll never learn. ever. we'll just forever point fingers.

if anyone's surprised by the diddy trial outcome, go on max and watch s1e2 of the boondocks, the trial of robert kelly. that was 20 years ago and the sentiment in that episode is still the exact same one that we have in this country. i'm honestly surprised he got convicted on any charges at all.

i love how for a number of years, the #apple approach has been to make macos more like ios. this year, they've finally realized that it's better to make the ipad work more like the mac, esp given that the ipad is basically a macbook air in disguise. that's going in the right direction.
