My colleagues got me a copy of @natcassidy.bsky.social’s Nestlings shipped over from America for my birthday and it is without a doubt the most skin-crawlingly tense, jaw-droppingly upsetting, insightfully clever ‘vampire’ book I’ve read in a long time.

It’s taken an absolute age but I’ve finally finished the first draft of this bloody, grief-filled, vampire-laden, high school horror book.
Second draft, here I come 💀

I cracked 60k on my novel today. The chapter I wrote involves broken furniture, snapping teeth, and a somewhat immersive experience into a chest cavity.
Here’s to the next 20k 🦷 🩸
