This wasn’t the first opportunity I have had to see Uriah Heep on stage but it will almost certainly be my last. «The Magician’s Farewell» live in Oslo 2026-02-01
Many favourites but it was worth the price of the ticket for «July Morning» alone. Awesome song! Glad to hear Mick’s doing ok.

That was just phenomenal! Wishbone Ash live in Oslo 2026-01-30. I almlst daren’t tell you when I last saw them (27 years ago!) - this was shear magic! The trademark twin lead guitar shone - glittering, soaring, dramatic and majestic - best «Phoenix» I’ve heard (this was my 4th Wishbone Ash concert)

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

The music of Leif Segerstam. I sang Mahler 8 for him in the Oslo Concert House in April 2005 - terrifying and thrilling at the same time. This is of course nothing like that of course but it’s very good.

Blåtimen i Nydalen 2026-01-26. Herlighet så godt å se blå himmel igjen. Skulle ønske at skyene og nordlyset ikke samarbeidet så godt som de gjør, men sånn er det bare.

Another cold, dark, snowy day in Oslo. It’s a small thing but if I never, ever, ever heard again the words «Thank you for your attention to this matter», it would put a smile of relief on my face. 2026-01-23

RIP, Little Port Walter, Alaska, Cooperative weather station. The NOAA Fisheries Little Port Walter Research Station was founded in 1934, but was shut down in December 2025. It is (was) the second wettest climate station in the U.S. (Mount Waialeale, Hawaii). 😭 @alaskawx.bsky.social

We experienced a truly incredible moment at the aquarium when this octopus decided to be a total jerk to its tankmate.

The Academy should 'avoid making judgments' about the 'character' of fellows?

Erm...Why?

What might be discovered if one were to ask?

I picked up this a couple of years ago in the LAWO Store closing sale (😢) and giving it a good listen for the first time today. It’s really beautiful - especially the Vier Gesänge Opus 17 for female chorus, 2 horns and harp. (The final one of these - Gesang aus Fingal - is just wonderful.)

Very sorry to hear that we’ve lost Terry Sullivan :-( Only Annie Haslam now left out of the classic line-up of Renaissance (Jon Camp, John Tout, and Michael Dunford all left us in recent years.) Fantastic band! Beautifully crafted music.
