This, involving the internet's favourite moany bastard @quantick.bsky.social, is must-hear radio. Politicians changing parties WHATEVER NEXT. Brilliant Rosie Holt stars, Quant co-writes and as I typed those words the sun shone through the window. Come the fuck on! Laugh!
The pilot I wrote with the divine David Quantick is on today on R4 at 6.30pm ( available afterwards on BBC sounds )
Its got great reviews and I was beyond excited to get the cast I wanted and please listen to it because everyone is very funny AS IS THE WRITING OBVS.

We are delighted to host a second course led by @susannacrossman.bsky.social

Through generative exercises, exploring texts from authors like Rebecca Solnit, Joan Didion, Noreen Massud, and Georges Perec we’ll be writing place and time, deciding where we’re standing and making this world alive.

This will be terrific. Susanna's a brilliant writer and her memoir is stellar. I interviewed her about it for 3:AM last year.

Good morning.

I wish our politicians would read more.

Perhaps if they did, they'd have more empathy and emotional intelligence.

Just sent Keir Starmer a copy of

Leonard and Hungry Paul by Rónán Hession.

Peter Mandelson may wish to note the above.

I really enjoyed this book 👍
2021 #6
A young woman sets out on a quest/pilgrimage down the north-east coast of England accompanied by a cousin nobody else can see. There's way more to it than that and the blurb in the alt text is only a quick one but in short, it is a wonderful exploration of place and people.

Many thanks Ben Myers.

'Independent publishing is where all the best stuff happens. Here is where the risk taskers, the dreamers and the outsiders gather. Without the indies, literature would be a blander and more homogonous place. All hail the mighty 'Moose!'

I really enjoyed this deeply moving book
A Dream of White Horses

My husband’s cousin just finished reading a different book by the same author when I told her about this one. She just bought it from her local indie book shop.
Tell you what, she’s in for a moving journey… 💎💧

So lovely to have so many people listening along, & cheering on these wonderful women. I think I sounded a bit like a little twittering linnet, at a hedgerows distance. Clare Balding is just the loveliest. Lawkes I love #Ramblings!
