It’s frustrating seeing uninformed takes about Warnock and Ossoff not voting to end the shutdown. As a fed eager to get back to work, I’d love a deal—but I respect their reasoning, and the 8 who crossed over. The GOP’s offer isn’t likely to be better than what’s on the table now.

Watching Speaker Mike Johnson dodge a commitment on ACA subsidies is a reminder that leadership matters. If he won't act, it's on us to pay attention for the next election cycle.

The Senate only cleared the first step to end the shutdown—nothing’s over yet. The bill still has to pass the full Senate, the House, and get signed by the President. A single procedural delay could stall everything. So, I am still waiting to get back to work.
Senators take first step toward reopening the government after historic shutdown
The Senate voted late Sunday evening on a compromise that could reopen the government following the longest shutdown in history.

Mike Johnson says Gavin Newsom should “focus on California,” yet Louisiana’s 2024 violent crime is 629 per 100k—far higher than California’s 480. Maybe the Speaker should focus on fixing his own state instead of blocking real solutions. #CrimeStats #Accountability

Caving on the shutdown won’t make you “moderate.” It makes you WEAK! Giving Republicans what they want for NOTHING more than a “promise” of a vote and risking millions of Americans’ healthcare isn’t compromise—it’s surrender and it’s the most RADICAL thing you could do in this moment. 1/

I’m stunned — the United States Department of Agriculture under the Donald Trump administration is telling states to “undo” full Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for millions of Americans. Made for food help, now being pulled back.

The MSN/Daily Caller story on ACA subsidies twists the facts. The subsidies really are expiring, but it cherry-picks data from a partisan report and ignores neutral studies showing premiums could double if Congress doesn’t act.

I’m no fan of MTG, and I live in Georgia and voted for the two Democrats who just won the PSC seats this week, but I have to admit she’s been making a lot of sense lately—definitely not her usual off-the-wall rhetoric.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "It's absolutely the worst political move to have the House in recess & for us to not be here working...there's a lot of disenfranchised 2024 voters & that was obvious in Tuesday's election. I'm from Georgia & we lost 2 statewide Public Commission seats & lost them heavily."

Our president clearly doesn’t understand the difference between socialism and communism. We’re a republic with some social programs, not a communist state. But he’s acting more like an authoritarian every day. Learn the difference. #Politics #Democracy

It hit me after reading the article — maybe the stalemate isn’t just politics. If Senators don’t trust Trump to honor any deal they vote on, how can progress happen? For someone who calls himself the “king of negotiation,” refusing to actually negotiate says it all.
