It’s frustrating seeing uninformed takes about Warnock and Ossoff not voting to end the shutdown. As a fed eager to get back to work, I’d love a deal—but I respect their reasoning, and the 8 who crossed over. The GOP’s offer isn’t likely to be better than what’s on the table now.
Here’s what Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock have actually done for Georgia: ✅ Voted for the American Rescue Plan — Brought billions to Georgia for schools, hospitals, and local governments, plus direct checks and expanded child-tax credits that helped working families. ✅ Passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — Nearly $9 billion for Georgia’s roads and bridges, $1.5 billion for public transit, $900 million for clean water, and hundreds of millions more for airports and EV charging stations. ✅ Delivered real Georgia projects — $122 million to upgrade public transit, $37 million for road-safety improvements, bridge and sidewalk repairs, and new EV charging networks across the state. ✅ Supported the Inflation Reduction Act — Lower drug costs for seniors, capped insulin at $35 a month, invested in clean-energy jobs, and helped bring electric-bus and semiconductor manufacturing to Georgia towns like Fort Valley and Covington. ✅ Voted for the CHIPS and Science Act — Boosted U.S. chip production and funded Georgia’s growing tech-manufacturing base. ✅ Expanded care for veterans — Backed the PACT Act to cover those exposed to burn pits and toxic chemicals, protecting thousands of Georgia vets. ✅ Approved the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act — Strengthened background checks, funded school safety and mental-health programs. ✅ Voted for Postal Service Reform — Protected six-day delivery and rural mail routes relied on by Georgia’s small towns, seniors, and veterans. ✅ Secured military construction funding — Over $500 million for Georgia bases, including a new Dexter Elementary School at Fort Moore. ✅ Defended food assistance during shutdowns — Fought to keep SNAP benefits flowing to Georgia families so kids and seniors wouldn’t lose access to meals. ✅ Championed voting rights — Introduced and supported the Freedom to Vote Act to protect ballot access and fair elections for all Georgians.

I came across this and had to dive in deeper because this meme leaves out the truth:Obama inherited a collapsing economy from Bush and led the recovery that Trump later claimed credit for. Comparing 2009 to 2019 skips the eight years of rebuilding that made Trump’s numbers possible. Context matters.
