"Harris" on Freaks & Geeks; "Dudley" in The Royal Tenenbaums. (Why is one "on" a TV show but "in" a movie?) Developed/wrote/edited various White Wolf/Onyx Path Tabletop RPG books. No one special now. @SLSheppard on Twitter. He/him

Metroidvania without a double jump, with ledges that can clearly only be reached via double-jump that imply unexplored areas beyond. Glitching into those areas reveals nothing beyond screen bounds.

"Seventeen" by Ladytron is twenty-three years old and still sounds like it could have come out yesterday.

There are two types of fantasy enjoyers, snobs and perverts. A snob insists that fantasy fiction can only be of real literary and human value if the fantastic elements can be reduced entirely to metaphor and the story still hangs together if you can remove them entirely. Snobs want to feel superior.

Replying to stuff on Bluesky with “@grok is this true?” is a pretty good bit, I’ll give it that.

My Canadian husband talking about Toronto: I mean, it’s no New York City

Me: NEW YORK CITY????

Him: …?

Me: I’m quoting a salsa commercial from 1994

Him: why would I know that

Me: it was for me

On the downside, I wrote a Kpop Demon Hunters fanfic. On the upside, at least it's very short.

If Neal Stephenson had written a Tron movie it would have seemed revolutionary when it came out but in 2025 it would retroactively seem to be championing generative AI in a way that ages like milk.

Does pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis count as a long word anymore, or is it disqualified nowadays because now we just call it silicosis?

I know I'm always banging on about this, but food banks can do so much more with your donation if you give money rather than food itself.
food banks have already been under pressure over the past several years, and with SNAP benefits expiring they're going to be the only safety net for a lot of people

please donate what you can. $100 can feed several families for a month because of the discounts and purchasing power they have

The thing about Mos Eisley is Obi-Wan didn’t say it was the grandest or most famous hive of scum and villainy, he said there was none more wretched. So it’s a hive of scum and villainy but it’s also kind of small and pathetic.

Okay it’s catchy.
"Soda Pop." Does nothing for me; I don't even find it catchy. This is the sort of music that when I was a teen, if it was on the radio, I'd be irritated by it. Perfect music piece to introduce the Saja Boys.

More Democrats aren't calling for Trump to be removed from office because it's a basic precept of leadership that giving orders or instructions you know for certain won't be obeyed makes you look weak and costs you credibility, and Democrats have no way to get Trump removed from office.

We are obliged as thinking people to think, talk, work, act, and live as though none of tech's fascist dreams will come true because they won't, and that their thoughtkiller machines will fail because they will. I sincerely believe artists' lives are at stake and are being lost when we don't.

Remember too that we are not dealing with one intelligent entity with a master plan to authoritarianism.

We're dealing with who, he's on first, and I don't know is running around here somewhere after what. clown car levels of stoplight fire drills. Endless palace intrigues. There is no right hand.

"How It's Done." Quite good but loses something in the absence of the actual portion of the movie that features it; I've tried to listen to it as a song and doesn't do much for me, but the music video version that's just the part of the movie that features it is amazing.
