3. If you see content that disturbs you, immediately (or as fast as possible) go and play 20-30 minutes of Tetris (or any other fast-paced game with your eyes sweeping over the visual field that has caused visual artifacts to linger when you close your eyes for you in the past).

Have been tagged in to provide the reminder about traumatic video because of the Charlie Kirk shooting video going around!

1. Settings -> Content & Media, turn off "autoplay video"
2. Keep your device sound off while browsing so an accidental activation won't include the sound

Oh! And a belated thank you to all who answered my call for office tech competencies for law students over the summer. I've added Word and Excel self-guided trainings in my Lawyering class this fall, as part of their Attorney Development Plan. Basic office tools AND more executive fxn exercise, FTW

You'd think by now it would take me less than 10 minutes to remember where to make the Canvas modules list the home page, rather than that dumb default "Welcome" page. (Pages>view all pages>dotmenu>Remove as front page). YW.

Yikes, fire season has started already. Big fire on RR tracks not super far from campus. Fire trucks were just coming through, so I pulled off the road for a bit. Hope everyone's safe.

Now that I'm writing more regularly, I'm tweaking part of my organizational system. OMG why won't Zotero sync with Notability. That seems so basic. They're too similar not to talk to each other, and too different to get by with just one of them. If anyone has a workaround, I'm all ears.

So, to be clear, Musk has now admitted he funded a man he believes to be a pedophile to be president.

And Trump has now admitted that he gave access to high level government secrets to a man he believes to be a big time drug addict.

This should be *the* story on the Sunday shows tomorrow.
Trump called Musk "a big-time drug addict" in a phone call shortly after their public feud. (WaPo)

Line edits and footnote-chasing. "My favorite thing in the world," said no one ever. But it brings me one step closer to getting my article on legal literacy at the reference desk out into the world.

A not-insignificant part of late-Dx ADHD is the mourning what could have been. But honestly, I'd probably be a Veterinarian right now if I'd been medicated and regulated in college, so idk... I think law-library-lawyering is a much better professional fit!!

Random, I know, but I really miss the mem:o app that visualized trackable things along a calendar, and I've had many moments where I've thought about trying to code something like it. Or making a koala rainbow version. I'm sure other apps could do it, but it wouldn't be as pretty.

Spent the afternoon session at #calicon25 at Jonathan Franklin & Sean Harrington's Vibe Coding session. I'll admit, I didn't know that term before today, but I'm intrigued based on their presentation. And also aware it could really, really be a (BAD) time suck for me, so I might steer clear.

Another New Study of Legal AI Shows Some Models Can Significantly Improve Work Quality and Efficiency
Just last week, I wrote about a first-of-its-kind benchmarking study of legal AI tools, and now comes another, much-different study, that is also the first of its kind. This time, in a randomized cont...

Now @seanlovesbooks.bsky.social talking about the array of tools that can test RAG and more on the back end; if vendors won't give us an API to test, they should be using these tools to test, releasing white papers etc. #calicon25

Now @thefordon.bsky.social is talking about typologies of tasks for AI tools, developing those for the legal research tools and more. What tasks are these tools useful for, what are the errors, etc. #calicon25

They're specifically talking about benchmarking AI tools, to compare across, measure and compare. Consumer Reports-style. There are many different types of tests we could put to the tools, though w/o APIs, we're very, very limited. #calicon25
