Many folks have asked, so we're answering! #GirlIGuess has handled Federal elections differently than local since October of 2023, and we're excited that we may be able to issue more than two Chicago/Cook County Congressional endorsements this year!

Although he is registered to vote in Will County, it is technically possible that the Pope has read #GirlIGuess because he voted in the 2018 and 2024 General Elections if the reports of his registration are accurate. This is Good For The Jews™️

Stratton is rushing (smartly) to roll out endorsements with the hopes of clearing the field. There are some folks she won't be able to scare off (Krishnamoorthi, likely Frerichs or Kelly), but being able to prevent even one challenger could have massive downballot implications. Early race to watch!
Tammy is a true leader for Illinois who doesn’t back down from a challenge. I'm so grateful to have her endorsement in my campaign for United States Senate.

A review of JNF Canada's tax filings confirms the organization failed to report over $100,000,000 CDN in donations since 2003. The finding raises serious questions regarding JNF activities and the preferential treatment given to Zionist charities.

Please repeat over and over:

“Bending to the whims of a bully will not end his cruelty. It will only embolden him. The response to authoritarianism isn’t acquiescence. Bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only: a punch in the face.”

moving forward I would like to see dems gum up the works every way possible. No unanimous consent, full votes on every tiny piece of business. I don't expect everyone to have the stamina to do a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, but many lengthy floor speeches. Just slow everything down to a crawl.

And finally, before I sign off for the night, a quick update on this race.

The right-wing culture warrior got 11.9% of the vote and ended up in 5th place (out of 6)
The pro-DEI liberal got 23% of the vote and won a seat on the City Council

THE SUBURBS DEMAND WOKENESS!

There's a local race here in the Chicago suburbs this Tuesday where one of the candidates is a far-right journalist that's running mostly to ban some books from the local library.

His opponent? A candidate who's proudly pro-diversity, equity, & inclusion.

Downers Grove, please don't blow this lol

DuPage Dems Chair here… we’re leading in 48 of 49 partisan races and only down in the one by 35 votes. Several of our townships have never had an elected Dem, and it’s sweep after sweep tonight.
This is just getting comical now for the DuPage County GOP, in Trump+1 Addison Township (a rare Republican-trending portion of the County):

-The INCUMBENT Republicans for Clerk & Township Supervisor are LOSING
-Democrats are currently winning 4 out 4 Township Board seats, ALL AGAINST INCUMBENTS!

Here’s a revenue idea that City Council should work on passing before next budget season: tax side yards appropriately.

This Lincoln Park home at 2242 N Wayne is for sale for $2.7m. You’ll notice it has a side yard on the lot next door (2240 N Wayne). 🧵

A staffing study of CPD might make sense if it were a matter of finding some optimizations to chip away around the margins of a somewhat competent workforce deployment model.

Here, no study is actually required to begin changing things. The major problems are obvious.
here is, broadly, what a competent staffing survey would say.

1. there are too many cops doing jobs that are not policing
2. there are too many cops assigned to districts where crime is low
3. assigning cops to do traffic stops is an ineffective gun violence strategy

I don't give a shit whether or not mcbride herself wants to compromise on her treatment in Congress. That rule applies to staffers, and like anyone. That is unilaterally making a choice for a whole ass minority. If it starts in the house of reps is it going to end there?

I really hope that whichever Dems inevitably vote for this resolution get a Party-Backed primary challenger, no matter who they are or what kind of District they represent. Folks will be watching to see if the Dems proceed with throwing trans people under the bus.
NEWS

GOP Congresswoman Nancy Mace is introducing a resolution to ban transgender women from using women’s restrooms at the U.S. Capitol.
